Today I received my third call within the week regarding a cat peeing on a couch. My question is regarding pet enzyme and if I can use it on a couch without doing any damage. Anyone know?
I have used the pet enzyme many times with effective results Flush- enzyme- flush, when you work the enzyme into the upholstry be careful no to scrub to hard, I work the enzyme in with my finger tips wearing rubber gloves of course
Good Luck.
Matt,
The pet enzyme can be used on most upholstery, however you must make sure the color does not bleed. You can do multiple treatments if necessary. You will need to flush the area out well. Try to get the fabic dry by using the turbo fan. I would be very cautious with a Rayon Velvet.
If odor is an issue, unzip and spray the inside of the cushion with (fresh scent, orange deod, final step, which ever you like most) and then stick the cushion in a large garbage bag. Stick your suction hose inside the open end of the bag and seal the bag around it. Turn it on and create a vacuum in the bag. If you are doing it right, the cushion will pancake to half its size and suck the deodorizer through the cushion. Repeat as needed.
I agree w/Dave’s response. The only additional item I would ad is protectant and make sure the fabric dries quickly with either the use of the turbo fan or outside sun.
Cody, Devlin and Laura’s combo advice there is great. I haven’t tried the cushion method yet but most certainly will. I had a similar situation with a cotton velvet couch and Cody gave similar advice when I called him about it. Worked great. Hope all is well.
Dave, I soaked the areas with fresh scent and then extracted. Then did the usual cleaning. I decided not to use enzyme on it. Had to make a second trip out to complete the job, but she was thrilled and gave a glowing recommendation.
