Just wanted o know how many of you guys went through the initial body shock of doing the constant physical work of cleaning carpets.
I’m in decent shape, 43 years old but have had none physical jobs for the past 25 years.
I used to go to the gym regularly but my 2 year old son has absorbed that time.
Anyway the point being is that after 2 months and 18 or so jobs realized that all of the jobs have one thing in common…..when I’m done my entire upper body is drenched in sweat and part of my lower body
I feel a little weird when I’m writing up a customers bill any I’m dripping sweat.
I have started to carry multiple shirts and change between jobs, however my wife said that this will probably pass in time as it did for her career years ago…massage therapy.
Please tell me some of you experienced this.
    Thanks,
    Kurt

I was in the same boat. Dry off with a towel before writing invoice.

It helps to drink diet dew instead of water! 😳

I hear ya! I think most everybody has experienced this! The good news is I think I am in much better shape these days! I also feel like I can do much, much more in a day than when I first tried this stuff. Carpet cleaning is a definite physical workout – and a few months down the road you will notice your stamina increase. Hey, it’s good for your health! We should include this in our franchise sales – hahahahahaha!

A few things. I am 29 I sweat more now than I ever have in my life. When I stretch carpet it is the time when I sweat the most. I agree with whipping yourself off or maybe they’ll think you worked really hard and that they got one heck of a deal ha ha. Later on when you can hire someone so they can do all the hard work that makes you sweat. I always have an undershirt on and that seems to help a bit. I know it another layer, but also its another layer to absorb the sweat before it goes into the nice button up. You will get used to it eventually.

    Hey Kurt,
You don’t have to live down south to sweat on this job.
The other guys are right, it is a great workout. I use to have back troubles, but rarely does it bother me now.
I’m 42, and remember all to well when I started 8 years ago, that I was sore for the first 6 months. I see this 6 month figure reflected in new hires as well… so it isn’t an age thing.

Hang in there! It will get easier.

** Hey Brian! I have never heard of this thing with the Dew!
You know… they don’t make it with mountain water anymore.
