Google ranking

Greg, thank you for helping with this, well actually, I am the one helping you with this, so thank you. I have been doing link building as well. For any operators reading this, every month in the newsletter we ask you to do one thing that will help with our website rankings. If we all do that one thing each month, then we will climb on the search engines.

Sorry guys but we are not really secure in position 3, Google is doing lots of changes lately and we really should be about position 4 or 5. Anything better then position 4 is due more to the Google dance then anything we are doing to improve ranking position. We have improved the on page seo factors for heavensbest.com and our total backlink count gives us enough push for 4th but 1,2, #3 are going to take much more work. I just did a check and of the first 12 data centers heavensbest.com is ranking from position #4 thru position #9 for carpet cleaning. Most of them are showing us at position #5. This rollercoaster of our position is going to continue until Google gets the bugs worked out of Caffeine, i am hopeful things will settle down early next year. We are ranking about position #8 for rug cleaning, #5 for upholstery cleaning, and #3 for carpet cleaning franchise

Yes Google is starting to incorporate Tweets and other social media updates along with more news related stuff, the idea is real time indexing. depending upon the news & social interest of a topic Google is going to adjust what is displayed on the first page to reflect the current interest and then will revert back to the previous ranking when the new level subsides. The changes should actually help the corporate site rank better over the long term but it also means that the day to day roller coaster of position changes will also continue.

You can use snippets from them in order to improve the organic rankings, you can even automate most of the process. Facebook is going to be a big part of the future growth of Heaven’s Best but we also need to move into things like proximity marketing and sms marketing. The whole process needs to be streamlined and deployed throughout the hb network.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I am expect the corporate site to take a bump down in the rankings for a month or so due to some on page changes and also Google has rolled out caffeine now across all the data centers. I am also pretty confident that when the changes gets completed we will be #2 and should be able to hold it.
