Hello,
I am not sure how many of you are using credit card processing machines, but we are just getting started and are afraid we signed up with a less than honest company. I am a little concerned. Has anyone used US Merchant as their credit card processor?
🙁 They told us there would not be certain monthly fees and we are getting hit with a lot of them. I am not getting any help from their customer service department and now NO ONE will return my calls. Any suggestions? Thanks,

We had a problem with our first machine and they sent us a new one immediately. They never charged us for the machines we just pay a pretty low monthly fee. Maybe you should just try to cancel the other account and find someone who has good customer service.
July 19, 2006 at 6:52 am #147133AnonymousGuestWe have been going through United Bank Card (please refer to the July 2005 Newsletter) with great success. We have a wireless machine we received when signing up free of charge (valued at $900-1000). When the cleaning techs take it out in the field, they slide the card through the wireless device and you receive an instant approval. You can also key in the transactions manually, however, the interest rate is not as good. Customer service has been good.
Hope this helps.

July 20, 2006 at 2:26 pm #147136pachecoParticipantAre you sure that you actually need a credit card account?
We have been in business 3 years now and have accepted a sum total of…drum roll….5-6 credit cards! Period. All of these went through the home office at a significant mark-up, however, we have found that most folks here pay with either cash or check.
We advertise that we accept all majors, but when asked, I always say we prefer cash or check..adding, ” as long as they don’t bounce” with a little laughter…only three have and they made them good within days with no cops or Bubba.
I know and realize that this may be odd to most of the operators, but that’s the way it is in Lancaster County, PA.
No business has ever been lost for not taking a cc. I always say that we will, but prefer checks.

I have to agree with Ammon we have been with United since they started with HB. Kevin Kennedy is Great to work with. We use the wireless unit and get a approve number on the spot. Money in our account within 3 buisness days

July 21, 2006 at 1:46 am #147138AnonymousGuestWe highly recommend taking all major credit cards. We prefer checks, however, we notice customers are more inclind to add say; upholstery or protectant if they can use plastic. We have many established accounts that leave a door open, key hidden somewhere, etc. allowing us to clean while they are away or at work. They later call in with their credit card info and take care of the invoice over the phone. Works great and is convenient.
Welcome! Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
July 22, 2006 at 7:31 pm #147139pachecoParticipantAgain…as Laura, many of our customers, 80-90 % of our repeat customers will leave the door unlocked, pets put away in a room, outside or cage, and have a signed and dated blank check on the kitchen counter….
We clean, leave a pair of booties for them if they might be returning before carpets may be dry, fill-in the check and leave a receipt and lock the door.
We love this business!!!

We don’t have much call for credit cards, but I wonder if we’d create more business by offering. I have a few deadbeats too, I bet they’d “burn the plastic” to get me off their _ _ _!

January 12, 2011 at 2:04 am #147145hbottumwaParticipantAre most of you still using United Bank Card services for your Visa/MC etc? Is it still working well for you? Have you tried some other company that you are happier with?
January 14, 2011 at 5:07 pm #147146hbottumwaParticipantOkay after looking more it to things, this is what I discovered.
Kevin Kennedy- Total merchant services (208)573-6710
$10 Statement Fee
$15 Wireless Fee
$25 minimum Monthly Fee (1.59% fee for cards swiped, $0.25 per-transaction fee (or) $25 which ever is greater)
$50 monthly minimum totalChris Manford- Merchant Services Direct (509)714-9076
$25 Monthly fee for services (service, wireless, statements)
$0.00 Minimum monthly swipe fees (half % (.005) fee for swipe cards, $.10 per-transaction fee)
Different with this company, you buy instead of rent/lease machine. Machine $499 new, $199 refurbished.
Also they encourage you not to take American Express because that is the only exception to the $.005 fee.
American Express- cost 5% fee. Och.P.S I bought the refurbished machine.
Input is encouraged.January 14, 2011 at 5:40 pm #147147bboom29536ParticipantHey I had some people say if you get the App! On your call phone it

January 14, 2011 at 11:11 pm #147144hbottumwaParticipantHe did have an offer for those that had a smart phone. Does a smart phone print out a receipt? My phone isn’t a smart phone and the one I got is still smarter than I am…
