I would like to target some churches and was wondering if anybody has a way to get your foot in the door with out them calling you. I guess I am referring to cold calling them. All the churches that have cleaned I have enjoyed the amount of carpet. I think they like the name Heaven’s Best. Honestly I like giving them the discount if has been great working with the churches that we already clean. I would like to approach them and say hey let me be your carpet cleaner. Does anyone have a script?

I really don’t have a script. If I have time, I stop at a church if I see a car parked near the office. I walk in, introduce myself, let them know that this is a zero pressure sales call, tell them about yourself and Heaven’s Best, smile, make small talk, give them your card, thank them and say it was very nice to meet you. Have a wonderfull day! I seem to relax when I walk through the doors of a church unlike if I was to walk through the doors of a business. Just be yourself.
This must work fairly well because I have cleaned in over 50 different churches and some multiple times. I tell them that we do our best to break even while cleaning for a church. We do make some money, but not much. The money comes from the exposure.September 24, 2008 at 3:50 am #152634hbottumwaParticipantBrian,
You do a great job. Thanks for your input. I thought you walked through the door in to the church, and say “my sins can’t be confessed unless the carpets are clean! And I have a lot of sins that need confessing! Who is in charge of the hiring of the carpet & upholstery cleaning?” That’s how I got all the churches I clean for! “Cleanliness is next to Godliness, who could deliver better than Heaven’s Best?”
If want any more bad jokes just call John at corporate! (800)555-hahaSeptember 29, 2008 at 3:45 pm #152635HBPuyallupParticipantBoth great comments, good ideas, and great openers. I have a list of churches with some names. I thought about writing them a letter that would introduce us and then following up with a phone call the following week. I haven’t really tried to stop in and hey. Just throwing around ideas and wanted to see what everyone else is doing. Thanks for the input.

April 5, 2009 at 2:08 am #152638AnonymousInactiveGood idea Evan. I have a fair amount of church business. I offer them great deals. They appreciate it and I still make good money. I like the fact that it’s good commercial work and can be done during regular business hours.

It would hurt to ask the customer if you could use them as a referral. “We clean for allot of churches, can we use you as a contact person for a referral?”
April 6, 2009 at 8:08 pm #152640AnonymousInactiveI have mailed information to all the churches in my areas and have had a 25% of them call me to do work for them. The carpets are usually fairly well maintained so they are not overly soiled or stained therefore I can offer them better pricing. I usually offer them a below commercial price. My way of passing along the many blessings I have recieved and still cover my expenses plus a little for the effort regardless of the faith they may be.
