I hesitate writing this but the possibility is something to prepare for. The experts say the U.S. government is spending far more then they take in. So much so, that in the year 2014 the dollar will be worth half it’s current value, and 2013 if Obama-care stands. Regardless of your thoughts and views on this, What will you do, or what can we do to control our personal debt and increase our income to offset this tragedy if or when it comes?
Now, I’m not saying buy more guns and ammo. I’m asking what can we do to continue to provide for our families and our well being?July 19, 2012 at 4:30 pm #155657chez6996ParticipantHave 20%-30% of your total assets in hard currency!!!!! and learn how to trade options (low risk high return)
July 20, 2012 at 2:23 pm #155658AnonymousInactiveAnd by hard currency I suggest silver and gold, have a good 6 months to a year of food in storage for your family. pay off all personal debt, learn how to garden now (im implementing auquaponics). thats on a personal side.
as a bussiness I suggest
spreading your base out, offer those additional services you dont already offer, go after those commercial contracts on maintaince agreaments. pay off debt asap.this is one of my favorite debt payoff calculators, and it is free 😀

I heard from someone that said “Is this the time to go back to the $99 special for 3 rooms (up to 400-600 sf- depending on the time of year) and $149 for clean and protect. Get a jump on the competition, with the goal of 6-8 jobs a day. Booking jobs as close as possible. Always maintaining quality.” Agree/not agree? What’s your thoughts on the issue?
July 26, 2012 at 8:38 pm #155660AnonymousInactiveMy plan goes like this: spend less than I make, stay in the market where people have money to use our services, set money back. Now, if that doesn’t work; I’ll sell out, buy that sweet 1978 Winnebago I’ve had my eye on, drive it to Canada and park in the back yard of my rich friend ‘Dirtbag’. From there it’s just livin’ the dream!
July 26, 2012 at 11:39 pm #155661AnonymousInactiveSounds great Ferris. If things go sidways you can join me, I’ll be sitting in the crash position, with my head between my knees kissing my arse good bye!
All my money will be long gone. I’m going to Vegas to bet it all on Red 7. Boom or Bust. It’s the (north) American way.
40 years ago in the 70’s people were singing the same songs. Now with the almighty internet we can find and read this kind of “end of the world” stuff till the cows come home. In 40 years we’ll look back to the good old days of 2012 when beer was cheap and we all drove cars that ran on gasoline and cel phones were as big as a candy bar. What if the Mayans are right and its all going to end in December anyway? Sing along with me and REM
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it.
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.August 1, 2012 at 1:10 am #155662AnonymousGuestI believe Bernanke will institute QE3 before the election which will, in my opinion, accelerate the demise of the dollar and create inflation to the point where the government cannot manipulate the inflation numbers as they currently do. I believe our economy, and many other things we hold dear and cherish, hinges on the election. Regardless, however, our national debt and penchant for spending will cause us to implode if it is not dealt with effectively and swiftly.
Bottom line, we are living in a very different and unsecured world today. I believe we all must prepare for the worst case scenario, whatever that means to each of us. By all means having a plan in place to continue to operate our business, if the economy will allow, but far more important than that, having a plan to survive. Yes, gold, silver, food, water, guns and ammo will be the order of day.
I do agree with Patrick, regardless what comes to pass, always remember God is in control and it behooves each of us to remain in His favor.
