This was posted on a local forum here in town. What would be your response?

We just replaced our carpets to tile in our living-den-master bed- rooms, Now I am running into difficulty to keep it clean on a daily basis. We have 3 short hair dogs as well.

So my question is: anyone has any suggestion what to use to keep off dust, dirt? I have a big mop what I use, but I need to just do a quick everyday clean up as well to pick up duts, dirt.
What brand did you had succes with, where is the best price?

Actually the Swiffer works pretty good on an in-between basis!

I have three dogs, two cats, and kids. They do a number on my tile. I have also found the swiffer products to work well between cleanings. We use the ‘wet’ swiffer pads for the tile. The scent is actually nice as well.

I don’t know how well this would work on tile, but it works on hardwood and I have to credit my brother who isn’t in the biz for this idea. He has a lab that sheds everywhere and he has bought a Rumba (little “robot” vacuum cleaner). He sets that thing loose when he leaves the house and it helps control the dog hair that gets everywhere. It will not replace a regular vacuuming for the carpet IMO but seems to work well for him in keeping it under control. They even make a rumba now that will automatically return to its base to charge if the battery gets low and comes with little posts that you stick in the corner of the room so it can map out the area and make sure it hits it all. Anyway, food for thought…..

So the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. i love these people who replace all their “filthy” carpets and then B&C about the new hard surface floors. Good for them. I would tell them to buy nice wall to wall carpet and have them installed. then clean them on a regular schedule by me.
