ParticipantI have noticed that I spend more time moving my equipment from unit to unit than I spend cleaning. If I could find a faster way to move my stuff around I could easily save myself a couple of hours on a day when I have 5 or more to clean. Does anyone have any suggestions outside of hiring someone to help?
I was thinking about getting a hand truck that I could put my sprayer, vacuum, rake and pads on. Something like this-
What do you guys/gals think? Any ideas?

ParticipantGee, Neil,
Success is a wonderful problem to have. If getting a hand truck would save time and frustration, go for it. Let us know how it works out.
Neil, as I was talking with Pat Schroeder in Ia, he said that many of the large complexes have moving dollies. He uses one every time he goes to that place. Sounds like a similar situation.

ParticipantNeil:
I do a group of single story elderly apartments and there are several buildings at each location. I bought a handtruck from Lowe’s with neumatic tires and the handle can be converted to lay the truck down flat. It has two small wheels at the top or front so when flat you have four wheels. I cut a piece of 3/4″ plywood about 30″ by 36″ and bolted it to the handtruck to make a platform. I can carry my equipment on it and it works great. I have used it also when doing stores in the mall.

ParticipantI put my sprayer on a hand truck years ago (permanently) and it helped a ton. I put 25 ft sections of hose together with quick connects and put the sprayer in a central location thus not having to move it with each room..I use their luggage cart for carrying pads, sprayer, buffer, etc. Also i use a exstension cord to keep from plugging and unplugging. We are sometimes doing 20 rooms a day.
I know apts. don’t have these carts but all the big home stores do.June 3, 2007 at 2:37 am #149850pacheco
ParticipantGreat idea.
For a couple of motels locally, we use the luggage carts at the front door and make 1 trip of it.
