About how much do most of you apply on a given soiled spot? About the same amount as what you apply 101?

FHE is not to be mixed with anything besides hot water. (Hot water: hot enough to activate enzymes but not to hot to kill them. The hot water should not be hot enough to burn your skin.) Dave, the enzymes are working until the carpet drys of other if other products are used. If the carpet does dry before your 15 min. it was a waste of time and product, it must stay wet long enough to do it’s job.
June 28, 2007 at 10:51 pm #149581IA43MemberI’ve been spraying down FAE then 15 minutes later spraying 101 down and buffing it all up. Do I not need to put the 101 down?
June 29, 2007 at 2:01 am #149582AnonymousInactiveTrevor,
I don’t think Gordon meant to imply that 101 isn’t necessary. He was just addressijg Danbo’s specific question. Yes, you need to apply the 101 after allowing the FAE some dwell time.Mike

I had an operator say that another operator told him that FAE in powder form should be mixed to 101 cleaner. This will not give you the desired results. Sometimes things can be mistaken. I wanted to clarify this so no one else will be misled.July 1, 2007 at 6:29 pm #149584pachecoParticipantNow I am confused….
Gordon, you spray the enzymes, then buff with a damp pad after the 15 minute dwell time, then apply 101 and clean as normal? Why buff with a damp pad? Seems like a waste of time to me. Am I missing something?
Just need a little clarification…
We spray the fresh enzyme, move equip inside and let dwell for 10-15 min then spot spray if required and then respray with 101, then buff as normal. Here we usually use the BBC pad and then a woven turfs to polish.
Thanks, Dave
July 3, 2007 at 12:18 am #149585AnonymousInactiveI use same method as the other Dave too. Spray, dwell, 101 spray, buff.
July 3, 2007 at 5:38 pm #149586hbottumwaParticipantI have no problem with the way you are doing it. If it works better in your area go for it. I have found it to work better for me to spray, dwell, buff using a damp pad (BBC if carpet allows) (1), them spray 101, clean, spray and clean until you are content.
(1) it (the BBC) continues to work the carpet (with FAE) while still active. The 101 mixing with FAE reduces it’s effectiveness, or so it seems to me.
Again you have the freedom to chose which way works better for you.
June 28, 2011 at 12:49 am #149587AnonymousInactiveI ask my custoner for some hot water mix in 2 scoops of FAE in 2 1/2 gal container. It will be good for about 2 hours.
August 29, 2011 at 4:33 am #149588Linda OrrKeymasterI must be doing something wrong. I tried using the FAE again. Cut loop burber carpet traffic area. I could not tell the difference between where I applied the FAE and where I hadn’t. I havne’t had one of those experiences where it has blown me away. Every time I use it I end up wondering why.
Any help for me out there?
August 29, 2011 at 1:16 pm #149589AnonymousInactiveTemp of water. Dwell time and mixing ratio are the essential factors. How are you mixing the solution?
August 30, 2011 at 4:09 am #149590Linda OrrKeymasterI mix one scoop per gallon of extra warm water, apply and let dwell for at least 10 minutes.
August 30, 2011 at 1:01 pm #149591AnonymousInactiveThe only other suggestion I have would be: You can go up to 2 ounces of FAE per gallon of warm water. Also let dwell a bit longer. I apply the 101 after the proper dwell time and then buff as usual. That’s all I’ve got to offer on this topic. It should work for ya.
August 30, 2011 at 7:34 pm #149592KY13ParticipantTry using Quickboost as a pre spray as well. Mix with hot water. Quickboost works better then FAE for me.
September 20, 2011 at 1:27 pm #149593Loren TurnerParticipantI use same method as Dave too. Spray, dwell, 101 spray, buff but we use the Dirt Napper for us saves time.
