I have three questions. When you respond, please label the responses with a 1, 2, and/or 3.
1. What was the one thing that made you decide to buy into Heaven’s Best?
2. Why did you choose Heaven’s Best over other franchising companies, even if they were in a different industry?
(ie. If you were deciding between a McDonald’s or a Heaven’s Best, why did you choose Heaven’s Best?)3. What questions did you have when you were looking into Heaven’s Best?
July 19, 2011 at 3:46 am #155178AnonymousGuest1) There were many things that went into my decision but suffice it to say having worked in the franchise industry as a consultant I knew the operators attitude toward the franchisor was paramount. What sealed my decision was both the Franchise 50 ranking as well as the many operators I contacted throughout the country. Every single operator I contacted spoke highly of Heaven’s Best and Cody so much so I was determined to find someone in the system that was negative. I needed to hear the other side if you will. I found that operator and thankfully for all us they left the system about a year ago.
2) I came into the system just prior to start of the “financial crisis” and the recession. While I looked at many different systems and industries my thought of a store front type business looked less attractive from a financial performance standpoint versus (if operated correctly) the very low overhead and high margins offered with Heaven’s Best.
3) Too many to list here…

1. If i have to narrow it done to one thing that sold me on Heaven’s Best it was the people. Everyone I spoke with was very open and willing to help out anyway possible.
2. I choose the carpet cleaning industry because I had worked for Servicemaster for a couple of years out of high school and felt that the need for the service would always be in demand.
3. My primary question had to do with the method of cleaning, I had only been exposed to the traditional truck mount so the low moisture method was new to me. I had already reviewed the FTD at the local SEC office before calling Heaven’s Best so I already had most of my questions answered before talking to Cody.

2. I chose HB over other Franchises because of the Franchise Business Review ranking HB as #1. Some of the blogs about Franchisors were not very favorable. HB also came in the top 50 of several other rankings.
3. My questions were cost, support, training, how many other franchises were there, would I have to compete directly with other HB operators.

2) I chose HB over the other carpet cleaners and restaurant because of lower entry point, less per month per territory, franchise business review. I almost didn’t because a sales person in northern California said ” you better put the money down or you may lose the territory you are looking at.” Big red flag at that point. Never ever say that again.
3) Support when needed, cost of advertising, entry price point to customer, what is my added value, typical customer list build time. many others. -
