ParticipantHello,
Has anyone ever experienced faint streaking in carpet after cleaning, mainly on low profile office carpet? I did a job the other day and the customer called me the next day and said that their carpet looked like it had streaks in it. I went over to look, and first of all you had to be at the right angle, at a distance, and then it was pretty faint. I did not rake the carpet because it was low profile and looked like it did not need it.
I tried to rake the carpet on my return visit to see if their would be any noticable difference, but there was not. I told then that I would go back over it again and try to rake it while it is damp to see if that will help.
Any other possibilities???
The carpets are clean and the streaking effect is faint. It did not seem to be a big deal with them but I do want to correct this if possible…
Thanks
Dan 😕

Inactiveare the streaks from the buffer pattern? if so, then try running your vaccuum over it and see if it changes. Raking probably wouldn’t do much good.

InactiveI think some customers automatically look for streaks because of thier past results from HWE. They were probably pretty impressed that it was that faint.

ParticipantI am pretty sure it is from the buffer pattern. They claim that there were never any streaks in the past. I will try the vacuum to see if that will help.
Thanks

InactiveDanbo, In my experience the longer you wait to rake after buffing, the more likely it’s going to streak on light colored, short nap carpet. rake rake rake!

Inactiveseems like sometimes it doesn’t matter how quick you rake, there are still streaks. I wonder if you could broom it somehow, rather than rake it? hmmm!

ParticipantMany of our customers do not care for the raking lines and opt for post-vacuuming instead. We must post-vacuum anyway due to the stuff that the buffing raises or leaves behind…and raking will not handle at all.

I have the same issue. Sometimes if I do rake it brings more stuff up and I have to re-vacuum anyways.
