We just set up a facebook for heavens best Sacramento. My wife who is the FB addict set it up. I plan to have her take over the updates, and I will feed the info. We have been up for 1 day and have a job already. This is something that is more then just a phase for young college people. I suggest that each city owner set up a facebook page as well. I would not just have it Heaven’s Best but add your city into the name as well. I want to find out how to add a link on my hb landing page so that my customers can link up as well. I have been seeing this on websites and this should not be to hard. We will then send out carpet tips, and promos through the month. When I am at a customers house I will ask them to look me up on facebook and they can leave a message or review.
February 5, 2010 at 2:05 pm #154228AnonymousInactiveI just set one up yesterday. thanks for requesting me to be a friend. People of all ages are using it. I think getting reviews on there can be a powerful tool.Nothing better than unsolicited referrals!

February 6, 2010 at 9:35 pm #154230Ca22ParticipantI have been working on this for a day now, and it has been great. I was able to get a facebook tag on my landing page. I have also set up a link to my landing page with facebook. I will try incorporating a newsletter to the facebook page. I do a lot of commercial work and some of the fans that we have are both property managers and portfolio managers. This is keeping me in front of them all of the time.
February 6, 2010 at 9:57 pm #154231AnonymousInactiveJust wanted to clarify something. When setting up an account for your business be sure to create a PAGE not a Profile. Pages are designed for business and have a lot more to offer. You can view reports on your demographics, create ads, and a lot more marketing things than just a normal profile. It is extremely simple. You will need a profile four yourself to be able to make the page though. I am not a computer geek by any means and I was able to figure it out on my own. There is a little help link at the bottom. Click on that and you will see another link to “how to create a page”, it will tell you all you need to know to get going. Good luck and I hope everyone jumps on this free advertising!

March 6, 2010 at 1:47 am #154234Ca22ParticipantJust a quick reminder of the power of facebook. When I came to the office I had a message on facebook for a job. She wanted a quote from me on some upholstery and an area rug cleaned. She sent me an instant message on Facebook.
Now for the disclaimer
WARNING * WARNING* WARNING
If you set up a fan page it should be used for marketing and sending info out. Overdoing the facebook post will actually turn people off. It is best to post Pictures/Videos and helpful tips. Exchanges that are of a business nature are great also. Anything that gets posted goes out to all of the fans. That means that they see every time you are building a barn in Farmville or playing Mafia wars ect. ect. I have some business that we became fans of that were sending to much stuff out. It was filling up the pages and looked like a giant add forum. I have blocked them out. I due ask my customers if they are on facebook, and to check us out. This has been going well so far.March 21, 2011 at 10:42 pm #154235VA01ParticipantSounds like a great idea. I am new to facebook, but have set up my personal account which I think has to be done before having a business page. Anyone else that would like to post hints, I would be grateful. 😀
Thanks, KathyMarch 31, 2011 at 11:51 am #154236AnonymousInactiveHow do you post your business on Facebook?
March 31, 2011 at 10:26 pm #154237VA31ParticipantSOMT is correct. First you need to create a personal account. If you have one, I would create an account that is separate account for your business. You could use the name John Doe or something. Then you create what is called a Page.
So first go to http://www.facebook.com/ and create an account on the right.
After creating the account, go back to http://www.facebook.com/ and click the link at the bottom right “Create a Page for a celebrity, band or business.”
I have seen on other topics that people say the best form of advertising is word of mouth. This IS the new word of mouth. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.
February 4, 2012 at 5:16 pm #154238AnonymousInactiveSo Dan Brady and I are driving cross country to go to the meeting in Florida I was planing on updating pictures of this great nation onto our heavens best facebook any thoughts, suggestions?
February 6, 2012 at 3:31 pm #154239VA31ParticipantIt might be a great idea. But one thing I thought is would you as a customer want to see pictures of your vacation? I don’t know. Maybe.
February 16, 2012 at 10:35 pm #154240AnonymousInactivePatrick,
That sounds like a great idea! I think the more you can engage your “fans” the better. You may find that you get a lot of feedback from people with the pictures and as you are coming up in their news feed they may remember they need their carpets cleaned. Make a game out of it….see if people can guess what state you are currently in based on the pictures. Judge it by the response you get and go from there. If people aren’t into it they can always just scroll past your pics in their news feed.
I do a lot of graphic design on the side (husband is the brawn and I’m the tech nerd in the family) and I think that the some of the most successful use of the facebook pages are the ones that find a unique way to engage the audience. Sometimes it’s hard to get people excited about dirty floors….. 🙂

February 16, 2012 at 11:56 pm #154241AnonymousInactiveThat sounds like fun we can play “where’s Waldo” where in the world is my carpet cleaner? I’ll pick up some gift certificates from some of my favorite places locally to eat at for prizes 🙂
