what are some of the ways many of you put pressure in the sprayer, air tank? compresser?
March 31, 2008 at 11:49 pm #151855AnonymousInactivefloor standing bike pump. 100psi in just a few quick pumps
April 1, 2008 at 2:10 am #151856AnonymousInactiveWe use a 110 volt, two gal. air compressor that is mounted in my vans. Each van carries two spray canisters for larger jobs. We also keep a foot pump for a back-up. I ordered a two gallon stainless steel sprayer with a hand operated piston pump. I will let you know how it works when I get it. Price was $112 but I think it will be well worth it. The biggest unknown factor is the spray tip but I think I can alter it if needed.

I’m suprised you aren’t using a V12, diesel powered, super-charged, intercooled, balanced and blueprinted engine with a quad tank, extra capacity, double walled, stainless steel, ultra high volume system mounted on it’s own double axle low ride trailer.April 1, 2008 at 2:20 am #151858WayneParticipantI have two small portable air compressors in the van. One is 12-volt and one is 110-volt, both purchased from Sears for less than $60 each. If I am doing a small job I use the 12-volt and pump up the sprayer in the van. If it’s a large protector job I carry the 110-volt unit into the house so I will not have to run back and forth to the van.
April 1, 2008 at 2:26 am #151859AnonymousInactiveHey Dennis, That would be a bit weak! I custom built a hydrogen powered wankle type air compressor with a nitrous oxide booster. There were a few flaws in the design so it’s no longer operational. Now you know what happened to my hair!
April 1, 2008 at 3:01 am #151860AnonymousInactiveWe use a 12v air compressor from walmart about $10. I ususally pump it up to about 180 psu since ours on the sticker say 200 max psi
April 5, 2008 at 7:20 pm #151861NE03ParticipantI use a 12V unit from sears. It has the digital readout and neatly fits on a little shelf in the back of my van. I pump it up to about 125 to 150 and it works great. I keep a spare in the van just in case. Each one last me a year or two. They are about $20 to $25. I would like to use a bigger unit but space is always an issue.
April 6, 2008 at 9:50 pm #151862pachecoParticipantSince I am cheap as well as lazy, we have 2 vans equipped with 12v compressors in our supplies…approx $20 each.
On a larger job, I do not like to go back and forth to the van for a recharge in bad weather or take the time, we have a battery booster with us and use that as the 12v power source in a home or building.
Also works to start dead cars/vans if the battery died. It works well for us. $50-$60 for the charger. can recharge on the fly or at home. We usually charge to 150 psi or so.
Hope this is useful…

August 8, 2008 at 10:27 pm #151864jdmartin401ParticipantI have two compressors. One cheap-o unit that runs off of the van. The other is battery powered (emergency car unit) that I bring in if the job requires filling the sprayer multiple times.
