Anyone have a standard email reply they give for estimate requests received through the main Heaven’s Best website when someone wants the reply by email? I have been getting a lot of these lately, but not booking many of them when I have to respond back by email. I know many of these are just price shoppers, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to improve my chances on some of the bigger jobs. Anyone willing to post what they usually reply with? I know every job is different in some way, but for the most part the replies are similar. Thanks.
July 22, 2008 at 3:45 am #152386AnonymousInactiveI’d love to share my email reply but my booking rate is less than 10%.

I’ve tried different ways to book the appointment, I’ve tried a detailed response, a short to the point response, the one’s I have booked sometimes have been the one’s that I have e-mailed back & followed up with a phone call, most times they don’t leave there phone number.
July 22, 2008 at 4:51 pm #152388AnonymousInactiveI’ve had hundreds of these and I’ve closed about 20%. I’ve found that you have to respond immediately with a phone call even if they ask for email response.

You can receive a summarized version of bid requests via text message by activating the feature in the Operators Only > menu heading “Other Links” then click “My Information”. Enter the phone number of your device that will receive the text messages, choose the provider, and set receive bids via text messages to yes. If your provider isn’t listed or isn’t working please contact me via phone or e-mail.Most comments I’ve heard on these bid requests agree with Ron on how to book them. The sooner you get your bid into them, the better your chances are.
July 23, 2008 at 1:25 pm #152390AnonymousInactiveAgreed that the sooner, the better. Unfortunately, if the customer selects their preferred response option as email rather than phone, I honor their request, even when I receive the alert on my phone via the text message option. Would eliminating that option to receive a bid by email eliminate some of the price shoppers that are just firing out requests to as many companies as possible? Just because someone is a price shopper doesn’t mean they aren’t a potential customer, but this was just a thought. Guess I’m not the only one not closing as many of these as desired.
July 23, 2008 at 3:12 pm #152391tn16ParticipantThat is an interesting thought. E-mail seems both ineffective for you and the consumer, but I think it has a lot to do with people not wanting to talk on the telephone. I can’t think of a good way around it that will allow operators to respond quickly. I’m open to ideas though.
July 23, 2008 at 7:30 pm #152392CJonesParticipantI think eliminating the email option is a good idea – because it is ineffective. If someone is truly interested in our services, they won’t mind a phone call. At least we will already have most of the information needed to have an intelligent conversation! ha! Seriously though – we have to give ourselves a better chance, and that is only going to happen with a personal conversation – not an email or a text message!

I totally agree.July 24, 2008 at 4:23 am #152394hern7146ParticipantI believe email is the way of the future. I get many email requests through my website and I book most of them. The key to email is to follow up with a second email or a phone call. People live fast pace lives these days and with email it stays in front of them versus a quick phone call. I have had email requests that I thought I lost and they have called me or emailed me back 3 weeks later to schedule. Just my opinion. 😀
July 24, 2008 at 2:07 pm #152395tn16ParticipantI know that one of the concerns that has come up before is that a lot of people will put in these bid requests at work and can’t answer their phones. I was thinking we might figure out some other kind of work around like change the preferred contact method to “May we contact you by phone?” (Yes / No)
July 24, 2008 at 2:07 pm #152396KY13Participantemail estimates are ineffective for me as well…….
its too distant and impersonal. i find my strength is an actual conversation.
i hate it when they check email, because i know i only have about a 10% chance of booking the job. but like dave i always respect there wishes. i agree with everybody else………lets say farwell to the email optionJuly 24, 2008 at 3:20 pm #152397AnonymousInactivenot that I am agreeing or disagreeing on this, but many will spend hundreds of dollars to advertise and be delighted to get a 0.5% or so response. 10% response on an email inquiry sounds like a great return for no money spent.
YMMV
July 24, 2008 at 4:10 pm #152398KY13Participantoh ok dirtbag i guess i’m just being greedy
❓July 24, 2008 at 4:35 pm #152399AnonymousInactivegreedy? Nope. Just work every possible angle to increase your clientel. it’s free and if you have time all the better.
Like I said,
YMMV -
