I love the Dyson but I wouldn’t take it to work with me. It’s just too fragile.
November 2, 2005 at 7:47 pm #145407NJ05ParticipantI have found that the Conquest works fine but that bag brings a new meaning to the work Sucks . I have found that if i remove the cup every so often and just run it for a little while with the cup off it blows it out quite well…………The bag just is not a well thought out portion of the conquest..After just a few uses it is dusty again….the draw back to the dyson is the fact that they will not honor the warranty for commercial use.!!
November 3, 2005 at 12:09 am #145408HBPuyallupParticipantI saw a Dsyon the other day if the plastic parts would last more the three months and not break I would be suprised. Way too fragile to use on three or four house a day.

Having a parts inventory readly available in my inventory is greatly reduced by having just one make and model of vac. Uniform/consistencey of equipment from a customers viewpoint I would think be better with one make and model of vac. And I did put my money where my mouth is… as I just purchased another Hoover to match the one I already have. “Isn’t expansion absolutely the funnest time ever!”

It will eliminate the dust issues that are common with the dust cup on the conquest. The bag option is available thru the home office if you talk to John Steiner.

In the corner of her house was a Dyson. It looked like the BMW of Dysons . . . very flashy and all the bells and whistles. I did my regular vacuuming routine and could not believe the amount of dirt and dog hair in my dirt cup. I am sure this lady uses her vacuum frequently . . . needless to say I was not impressed with the Dyson. Conquest may have a few issues, but I would take it over anything out there.
January 27, 2006 at 2:05 pm #145413KS07ParticipantI arrived at a upper level style of home the other day and was greeted by a very handsome looking young boy. He was very distinguished looking. Blonde hair. Very polite, and with glasses that seemed to barely fit his nose. He invited me in (he spoke very good english by the way). The young mother, who was kinda out of sorts and seemed to be in a bit of a hurry then showed up at the entrence hallway and proceded to show me the work that she wanted done. All was proceding as usual. I then brought my equipment in. Conner, the 3 1/2 year old, was watching my every move. He then asked “Oh, so you use Hoover?” “Yes I replied”
“It’s a Conquest 14” he said. “Yes, I replied, it is”. “Oh! and you have the portable unit as well!”…. “With the crevice attachment TOO!”I am starting to become aware that this little fellow is a bit more interested in vacuum cleaners than most 3 1/2 year olds are and my curiosity is growing. “How old are you young fellow?” I ask… “3 1/2!” “I’ll be 4 in June” “Would you like to see my Hoover?” I glance at the mother who is sitting in a chair with both hands covering her face. Ahh… Ok?? I replied… The mother allows Conner to show me his very own Hoover vacuum. Sitting in the corner of his bedroom. It’s a Hoover upright. Wind tunnel model. Conner doesn’t like the bag models. Conner procedes to tell me all about how Hoover is so much better then even the DYSON models and demonstrates why that is so.. .. I later find out that Conner requires this poor mother to read owners manuals of vacuum cleaners to him before bedtime…. So….. To make this as short as possible… This should settle the question to all about who makes the better vacuum cleaner. This is a true story. The dad is a doctor for those wondering. The mom is a stay at home mom. No uncles or Aunt or cousins sell vacuums. Just thought I’d share this with you all……

If I didn’t know you so well, I wouldn’t believe your story. This is by far the most interesting story Iv’e read on this bulliton. Thank you for sharing such a neat story.
I think that young man is going to go far in this world. Hire him in a couple of years!!!!!!!!March 28, 2006 at 4:31 am #145415AnonymousInactiveCleaned for a customer (who is also a friend) last week that received the purple dyson as a Christmas present. She has a german shepherd and vacuumed the day before we came (approx. 400 sq ft total plus 1 staircase). I saw her vacuum sitting in the corner and the cannister was at least half full (she may have emptied it while vacuuming and continued vacuuming, I don’t know). We proceeded to vacuum and almost completely filled our dirt cup. Does this mean I think the Dyson sucks (insert joke here) and the Conquest is king? No. I just think it comes down to the person vacuuming and how much time they actually spend vacuuming, whether how many times per week and how thorough they are each time. If getting the Dyson makes the customer feel they are doing more each time they vacuum and thus vacuum more often, we all win. Could the Dyson make a good substitute for the Conquest? Possibly. Nevertheless, both are quality products, but I feel confident sticking with the Conquest for our professional needs. Just my observation and 2 cents.
March 28, 2006 at 9:21 am #145416AnonymousInactivewhen a customer asks me “what is the best vacuum?” I tell them the one that gets used!
