😀 We did a customet today who prevaccumed their house with a dyson they have just purchased. They had a cat that left hair everywhere. It was spotless(from hair and dirt that is). I love our conquest vaccum but was impressed with the dyson. She said that the only thing she didn’t like is that it pulls loose fibers of the carpet out farther. Let me know if any of you guys use the dyson. They are exspensive.

October 20, 2005 at 1:18 pm #145394AnonymousInactiveI cleaned for a customer last year and when I started my conquest the customer said “I’ll be interested to see what you get in your vaccuum, I just bought a Dyson and vaccuumed just before you got here”. I vac’d about 500 sq. ft. and got up about an inch of dirt.

The guy on the commercial says it spins the dust out of the air but from what I understand, matter is neither created not destroyed, so who knows.
Dryin1hr,
No I don’t think Cody does but hopefully some more operators will get a word in on experiences with the Dyson. All I know is that it sucked the cat hair right off the floor better than the conquest but I still love our conquest. I do need to wash the bag. That is probably why.October 21, 2005 at 5:02 am #145396AnonymousInactiveThe conquest is a great machine but we have to remember that the bag is a filter. If the bag has fine dust lining the inside, the effeciency is greatly reduced, thus minimizing the amount of vacuum. The problem I have been hearing in a previous post was the dust puffing from the bag. A new bag will not allow the dust to blow through. As the rubberize interior of the bag deteriorates, dust will start to escape. The things that deteriorate the rubber lining is water, liquid deodorizers, and internal vacuuming of the bag. To maximize the life of the bag, it is best to not wash or vacuum the interior. To clean the bag, shake the bag as described on the dirt cup then run the vac outside(standing up wind) with dirt cup removed while brushing the exterior with your hand. Deoderize by placing dryer sheet inside the dirt cup or applying a FINE mist of fresh scent on the exterior of the bag. Make sure the beater bar and belts are in good shape. Hope this helps.

Yeah, then we would have the best of both worlds. Maybe we as operators could event out own vaccums, buffers, etc.

October 25, 2005 at 3:33 am #145400HBPuyallupParticipantHow durable is it. I like the durability of the conquest. I had one vacuum for 13 years with only two engines replaced along with other things like belts, hoods, bumpers, etc.
October 25, 2005 at 9:55 pm #145401AnonymousInactiveI cleaned for a lady not long ago who had a Dyson sitting in the corner. I of course vaccuumed with our Conquest and couldn’t believe the amount of dirt I got out or her carpet! Either she wasn’t using her Dyson or it wasn’t doing the job. I was not impressed.
I’m really impressed with the Conquest for a number of reasones: great power, built very durable for commercial use, easy to fix and get parts. I think for our purposes, it’s the best.
I do HATE the bag and the dustiness of the Conquest, so I’ve gotten to where I replace mine quartly which helps a lot.

November 2, 2005 at 1:10 am #145404AnonymousInactiveJust some food for thought if you go the Dyson route. They don’t have the rubber bumper around the side of it, rather straight plastic. I can’t count the number of times I have gotten overzealous vacuuming and hit a wall, wood table leg, or bed post by accident and not damaged a thing. I know our Conquest’s bumper helps prevent damage to the customer’s property, and to the vacuum itself. Will the Dyson damage their property or break if it comes in contact with something? I am intrigued by the Dyson like everyone else, but would recommend examining all aspects before making the switch. FYI, for what it’s worth, consumer reports didn’t give the Dyson high marks.
November 2, 2005 at 1:29 am #145405AnonymousInactiveI agree with Mr. Devlin. The conquest, looking at all variables, is the best vacuum. The equipment and products that are offered by H.B. work fantastic. By contract, we are to use only the equipment and products indorsed by Heaven’s Best.
