We are cleaning an apartment that has terrible dog smell. We per-treated with fresh scent after vacuuming, cleaned normally, treated after cleaning with Fresh Scent (mixed 8-1). Came back after drying and it still smelled. Vacuumed again and did another treatment and raked. Any thoughts if the smell is still there?

Appointment complex already painted with a anti smell agent. There is no urine..this is just a heavy dog order.

    Thanks for any help

No..just smells like a dirty dog that has been laying on the carpet for a long time. We have had this issue before but never this bad.

My guess is the smell/odor has made it down to the pad. If that is the case, you can either pull up the carpet and treat the pad with fresh scent, or you can just let the customer know the pad needs to be replaced in order to remove the smell.

I have had good success by pre spraying with hot FAE. Then cleaning. The FAE breaks down the oils left behind
    And what Dave said

Also try just regular pet enzyme after pre spraying with fae. pet enzyme seems to neutralize and will keep working for a few days.

We’ve had good results using either pet enzyme or FAE, then following up with Final Step Deodorizer. In situations like this, we treat with the enzyme as usual then use up to about 6 ounces of Final Step deodorizer per room, all over the carpet, then we groom the carpet to work it in a little.

Another thing we have done in apartments with foul odors is to leave a mesh bag filled with charcoal in the middle of the room for a couple of days. We’ve had good results using this in combination with the Final Step deodorizer.
