Just wanted to know if any of you are having the same problem. It has been raining here for about a month and a half straight. I think we have had two days with no rain so far. Most rain I have ever seen in South Texas. It’s a good thing for drought, which usually hits us during the summer obviously, but bad for biz. My phone calls are next to nothing lately. I know those of you in the Midwest US and North Central Texas are probably having the same problem. I realize that no one wants to clean on days it’s raining and probably doesn’t think about it while it’s raining. I just hope it brings in a lot of biz, considering peoples carpets and rugs and what ever else have to be getting dirty. So, I guess I am thinking positive, but wanted to know what constant rain does for you guys. Some say Globabl Warming, some say coincidence. Whichever it may be, it hurts right now. Shoot us some prayers. I always pray for all of you.

Been raining a lot in northern Iowa. I would guess about 12-14″ in the last 10 days here. It hasn’t hurt business but it’s a pain to work in. It finally stopped yesterday and looks good for a week.

    Hey BFerris,

Hows the TV ad going for you? Would like a call from you to discuss.

Yep. Has been hard to move things around from van to house, or business when raining hard. Sometimes, if we have time, we wait it out.

In the Pacific Northwest we know a little bit about rain also. Keep in mind, we don’t see the type that you were getting, we see a constant drizzle for about 6 months with some sun breaks and showers thrown in. I have always been jealous of these operators that see record months in the winter, when it’s all we can do to stay afloat. (no pun intended) Carpet cleaning business certainly slows down when it’s wet. New customers don’t think they can have carpets cleaned in the winter because of excessive dry times, and our customers that know better want to wait until the rain stops. Many don’t see the point in paying for carpet cleaning when people are sloshing in the door. They wait to clean up the mess, usually until April or May.
My advice would be to put your best specials out during the wet times. People will call when the rain stops.
