You are right, sometimes you have to say yes.Regarding the flat berber, Even when you do pull up the loops, it very quickly goes flat again. This is how a berber wears different from a cut pile
I have also been disappointed in the look as I have been cleaning, but have had the chance to go back and look at that what seemed to be”half clean” carpet a day or so later and it’s always looked amazing.May 18, 2006 at 10:26 pm #146433AnonymousInactiveI did a carpet recently that had the largest brown stain I have ever seen. It was approx 4 feet square and stained light to very dark brown. Right next to it was a dark grey area that went the width of the room. Of course the carpet was olefin berber. The owner was at work and did not leave a number to call and get information so I just went for it. I boosted the cleaner with citrus booster and quick boost, sprayed it down and let it sit for 10 min. Gave it a light misting agin and hit it with the Napper. Wow. The brown stain was nearly gone and the grey had reduced 80%. Being that I tend to be a perfectionist I continued to work on it with woven pads and light misting on the areas in question. I was finally satisfied and left. On a followup phone call the lady said her husband called her that afternoon and thought there was new carpet in the room. He even took of his shoes which she said never happens. She was very impressed. I would have personally been disapointed if she wasn’t thrilled with the carpet. Anyway, the brown stain appeared after the suck and soak guys were there. Each time they came and cleaned it the stains reapeared and got larger, 3 times. I now have a new customer that is telling everyone who to call and clean their carpets. I just love this business!!! Thanks Cody, Gordon and the whole HB gang!!!

I agree that it may cool when it becomes a mist, but I still think it is better than cold water. Even if it truly doesn’t make a difference, it does in my mind. Read somewhere that steam cleaners can lose up to 80 degrees between truck and wand heads.
As for dirt napper, I use the BBC more than the napper. Seems that a lot of the carpets that need the napper are that dirty for a reason as they are not cared for. They also seem to usually be old carpet and the napper is often too aggressive for these carpets.

Pure cotton is one of the most absorbant fibers known and the finishing towell will always pick up additional soil after using any of the other pads, this in my experience and has worked very well due to the absorbancy and surface contact.
