    The part about “if spots return so do we” is where you got taken..You have to look at every angle like a customer. very seldom do I tell customers that their carpet will be dry in one hour. When they ask me “will it really dry in one hour”? I tell them if they have regularly maintained their carpet and it is not heavily soiled in most cases it can be dry in one hour or so…that is still better than 24 -78 hrs. I would have given this customer a spotter bottle and showed them how to use it..then put them on the inactive list…

    Let it be. You didn’t say “if the spots come back, so do we” for free. However, it does sound as if you would come back and do it for free. After 6 months though, I would have to say no way dude, or you will become the carpet cleaner who does work for free.
