I had a job the other day in which the lady bought a house w/ numerous pet stains. No telling how long they had been there. I am going back to do some more work there, but wanted some input. I can usually get the smell out pretty good. My problem usually is the color. Is there a way to get the color out ( ie; yellow urine color)? Thanks.
Coffee stain remover seems to work the best for me on those long-lived stains. I have found it works best if you apply it when the carpet is dry, let it set for 15 min., then flush. If the stain remains, mist a little more on the stain and walk away, explaining to the customer that it may fade away in a week or it may not. I ask the customer to call in a week if it is still there so I can try once more. They usaully don’t call.
I haven’t tried the coffee remover on urine stains. I will have to try that. I have always used red dye remover on them if the normal solution won’t get them out. Once again it works better on dry carpet.
I have heard from other operators that red dye remover works good and our new pet enzyme should work well also. I say new. It’s new to me. We joined the Heaven’s Best family in June of 2004. So most of my experience has been with the old pet enzyme which worked great but took a lot longer. I had the same situation last Friday. Just follow the instructions, to the T, for the pet enzyme. Keep in mind that the amount of time the stain has been there and what has been used on it can affect the outcome of your work.
