One of my regulars called me. A friend spilled coffee on her off white carpet she used the HB spotter when that didn’t work she turned to her trusty spotter chart looked up coffee & followed procedure M the hydrogen peroxide & ammonia mixture. That didn’t seen to do the trick either. She called me I’m going over there this week. Any suggestions? I have not have very good luck with coffee stains. The coffee remover usually doesn’t usually work as well as i would like it to. Any help ?

November 16, 2008 at 11:55 pm #152983AnonymousInactiveThat must be a new policy for SS as I have cleaned up red spots they couldn’t get out more than once.
November 25, 2008 at 12:23 am #152984KY13ParticipantDave, I too have cleaned up red spots left behind by SS. But like I said they’re guaranteeing pet spots and coffee spots…..not red spots.
November 25, 2008 at 2:28 pm #152985AnonymousInactiveWow, would love to see the fine print on their guarantee for pet spots and coffee. Probably 2 of the toughest stains (note I said stains, not spots, as that’s what they usually are by the time we show up).
November 26, 2008 at 2:25 am #152986KY13ParticipantI too would love to see it. But so far i’ve lost 2 jobs to that BS. It’s pissin me off.
November 26, 2008 at 5:31 pm #152987pachecoParticipantI must be missing something..I have always had very good experiences with coffee and tea. I have been using the powdered coffee remover from 5 years ago, mix a little strong and then spray, dwell and then extract, may take an overnight to allow to disappear. I only mix a quart at a time.
Never had a problem with it. Really though the little dribbles and associated coffee/tea spots I find come right out with 101 with a punch of OD in the spotter btl.
Just my 2 cents

Thanks!!December 11, 2008 at 8:24 pm #152989AnonymousInactiveThe spotter chart is top item under paper products, item 802 – C in online store. They come 25 to a pack.
Also, here is a good tech bulletin on tannin spots (i.e. coffee) and why they are so tough to clean sometimes.
December 12, 2008 at 1:01 am #152990AnonymousInactivethere are a lot of tangibles when it comes to coffee.old carpet, new carpet?nylon or polyester, olefein?been cleaned before and no protecter applied?and how many times?did they try and remove it prior? was the coffee hot or warm?was the carpet a stainmaster?usually the costomer has no clue on 9 out of ten. but if our regular 101 did not put a dent in it ,followed by coffee remover, try red dye remover.try to dry it prior though before using red dye remover.red dye has worked for me only a few times on this.white carpet of course is always worst case senario.
December 29, 2008 at 6:30 pm #152991Tx46ParticipantDepending on the color of the carpet you could try to color/bleach the carpet.
The original post stated it was white carpet. Purchase a bleach pen and try a very small area.
I have only used this method once on a small area yet it worked.
December 29, 2008 at 6:38 pm #152992pachecoParticipantwithout me going back through all of this and checking..how about carpet dying?
