😥 Could not belive the news when I heard it, took my breath away. Cleaning carpets mid day when I spoke to another operator who informed me of the very sad news of Cody passing. That night I woke up around 3am thinking, what a horible dream I’m having. Unfortunately, the news was real. Had know idea his condition was terminal. As, we are all part of the Heaven’s Best Family, we will miss our leader, mentor and caring founder. You will be greatly missed CODY! Prayers and thoughts to his family and all that had the privilege of knowing him.
November 30, 2016 at 7:04 pm #156259hbottumwaParticipantI will be in Heaven’s Best for 25 years in March 2017. We all miss him. Cody’s honesty, integrity, and his ability to sincerely care to me is what made him who he was and is. Cody earned his Heaven’s Best angel wings every day. I was blessed to be able to attend his viewing (Monday) and his “Celebration of Life” (Tuesday). Cody is a totally awesome guy and literally my best friend. What I didn’t know is that so, so many people knew him and felt the same way. At the Celebration of Life, there was a lot of things said. One of those things was “… one of his Grandsons referred to him as “Grandpa Heaven’s Best”. May we all be awesome (like Cody) and live up to the title of “Heaven’s Best!”
P.S. A awkward moment turned good: Many years ago, during a “Family Home Evening” activity, I was giving a lesson and asked a question when the phone rang. My wife answered the phone, but in stead of saying “Thank you for choosing Heaven”s Best” she answered the question, “Heavenly Father” There was a pause on the line, then Cody said “I didn’t know Heavenly Father was a woman but, boy, do I have a lot of questions for you.” What a man. I hope Cody has received the answers to his questions.

When I was on a 23k a year income at the time and Cody had me travel to Rexburg, Idaho for corporate training. Now training and certification I believe at the time was 2k I’m not sure exactly. I literally had enough money for just for gas to and from Rexburg and for the training costs. I was going to sleep in my car that week during training to avoid hotel costs. I was asked by corporate my financial situation, where I was sleeping during training, etc…well long story short Cody found out that I borrowed 500$ from six different check agencies to come up with the extra 3k for training and other costs. And of course he figured out that I was planning on sleeping in my car, etc…
Cody for starters trained me one on one that week along with his long time employee John Cody payed for my hotel stay as well. On my last day of training before driving back to Colorado he said take all that money back to the check agencies and your training is free and he gave me a hug as a father would give to his son.
Now people don’t realize that I called Cody for two years off and on when I was a technician for Heaven’s Best “bugging ” him to get me an area that I can have owner financing. During that time he called and shopped areas in the USA and discussed with many Heaven’s Best owners about my desires to buy into the corporation. The last three choices that he and I were to finally after two years of searching and had gotten the go ahead sale on with owner financing were Provo/Orem ut area, Logan/Brigham Utah , and Fort Collins/loveland Co. Of course we all know that I was able to take over my hometown area here in Colorado.
During the first two years in business Cody took time out of his schedule off and on to double check the financial numbers, how our new website and marketing was doing, quality of our equipment and presentation of our vans and employees so on and so forth. It’s been a pleasure to have been a apprentice if you might say under Mr. Howard. I will always do my best to run a company with heart and spirituality rather then be the business man that runs a company for wealth only.
I’ll never forget the example of how a big time business man such as Mr. Howard was towards myself and my family for these last 27 years we’ve been In business. Mr. Howard was more then a CEO he was man that was personable with everyone that excepted such things in and outside of business. Until we meet again Brother Howard.
