Every now and then it is wise to make sure you are getting proper suction through the hose on your small hand held edging vacuum. The hoses on these can get clogged and you will lose suction and may not realize it sometimes. An easy way to fix the clog if it is in the black accordion hose is to remove the hose from the vacuum and the chrome extension. Then take your wooden carpet rake handle and insert it in the end that attaches to the vacuum. Slowly work the hose down the handle of your rake and you should eventually have the blockage come into view and get pushed out. Nails, paper clips, small wood trim chips and even plant leaves/branches are all common causes of these blockages. After vacuuming as much carpet as we do, I’m sure most of you are like me and can tell by the change in sound of either of your vacuums when something isn’t right.
