ParticipantI just tried it as well here. It comes out this week. They gave me a pretty good deal as well: A full page for Approx. $800 (50,000 homes).
I will see how things go over the next few weeks…

ParticipantI ran a half page ad for $500 last month in one of the best areas I own. We got one call and no jobs. I thought I’d try the coupon book format against my instincts and I got stung. That type of ad format isn’t where we belong.

ParticipantI think it depends on your market. Some areas do great with the mailers, etc. Others may not. It’s hard to know what works best in your area unless you try some different things and track the results…

InactiveResults from a third of a page ad, that ran in 2 books for total of 100,000 homes cost $900. 3 calls booked all 3, almost paid for itself. Will not use it again.

ParticipantI don’t know how well this works for those of you in Southern California but my mom and a lot of her friends who live in HIGH-END areas in Huntington Beach always get their home service type of people out of the Pennysaver. My mom is constantly looking in there. It’s not very expensive to advertise there at all, 30 bucks or so last I checked, but it’s been a while. Her friends say they use it more than the phone book. It’s worth a shot. If we had it out here I’d use it! Then, if you just get one job, you are still ahead of the game.

ParticipantI just purchased the Huntington Beach, Newport Beach & Costa Mesa areas. Tell your Mom to call me and ask her if she has seen my Flyers in the Orange County Register. I haven’t tried the Penny Saver but generally they are the low end type guys that advertise in them. FYI almost ALL of Huntington Beach is high end homes… that is why I bought the areas!
