Is “dual process” using the stand up wand with the upholstery mate; then buffing?
October 17, 2008 at 10:31 pm #152706AnonymousInactiveEvan, yes that is correct.
My 2 cents on clean off. First, nobody will clean it “like normal”. Everyone will give it a little extra, and you should too. Second, make sure it is a real world situation, especially when it comes to a truck mount. Local TV “news investigator” in Denver (Tom Martino for those that know of him) did a side by side with cleaners here in town long ago before I got in the biz. He did it comparing cleaning methods (HWE vs. bonnet vs host vs someone else). In doing it, they took 4 pieces of carpet from a large festival that had been used by people cooking the food. Grease, dirt and all the fixin’s involved. When they cleaned, they put the pieces of carpet by the vans. Truck mount was only running 10-20 ft of hose. Hardly any loss of heat or suction compared to when they usually run 100′ of hose. Not a real world situation. Believe the HWE was deemed the winner.

good luck
October 20, 2008 at 3:12 pm #152708KY13Participantwhy not the upholstery mate
October 20, 2008 at 6:09 pm #152709Tim nemethParticipantGood afternoon Gary,
The upholstery mate has the same psi as the ninja.
Jim WilsonOctober 21, 2008 at 4:15 am #152710NJ05ParticipantI have yet to find the heater on the upholstery mate..
October 21, 2008 at 5:54 pm #152711tx45ParticipantGordon hit it right on the head earlier in this post. A dual process is not our regular process. If you get the account and don’t always use the dual process…. you will probably have to kiss it goodbye because someone will call you on it. If you are going to always use the dual process than expect the job to take twice as long and because of that, also be less efficient/profitable. Don’t buy in to the dual process hype. I’ve used it, with a ninja that has heat, and it takes a long time. You will get similar results with our regular process using a boosted up mix or pre-spraying fast acting enzyme before hand. Just my two cents!
October 21, 2008 at 7:01 pm #152712pachecoParticipantHas anyone nuked our C-101 and used it normally?
I did once or twice and it worked well, but not since. I would like to see a test myself….probably will do myself. I would be willing to bet a couple of bucks that across a high traffic area, a swath cleaned with hot C-101 would look cleaner, clean faster and all around better than with cold/ambient temp C-101. Basic chemistry says I am right…
One could do this and not compromise the system at all, and quite possibly clean better.
Weigh in Cody..am I right or wrong?
I seem to remember Cody telling us in class not to enter into contests like this…can be dangerous. I say, if you do…WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take every possible advantage to do the best you can.
Just my 2 cents as well…
Thanks,
DaveOctober 21, 2008 at 7:13 pm #152713tx45ParticipantDave,
I don’t know what “nuking” the 101 would do, but using hot water in your sprayer jugs does increase the strength of the over all cleaning solution.October 21, 2008 at 7:54 pm #152714jdmartin401ParticipantI agree with Ammon and Gordon. I have done this a few times and have always used my normal process to clean. Dave Dilts, I must have mis-remembered Cody’s warning. I’m glad I have gone to these opportunities. You compete against these cleaners every day. Just not face to face. So why not see how you compare first hand? I consider this one of the best things that happened to me since I started the business. The confidence I gained in both my abilities and the HB system after seeing different competitors systems first hand helped me feel a lot better about my place in this profession!
I’m sure Matt will do what he thinks is best for his business. Good luck Matt!
October 21, 2008 at 8:04 pm #152715pachecoParticipantif you lived within 25 miles of the Three Mile Island reactor, you would know what nuking is…
It is a pretty common reference to the microwave cooking of food..nuking whatever it is…maybe I misspelled.
October 21, 2008 at 8:27 pm #152716tx45ParticipantI understand “nuke”. I do it to my leftovers every day for lunch 😀 . I wasn’t sure if you meant actually putting the 101 in the microwave or what. I forgot to mention that we usually fill our jugs with hot water because it does increase the strength of the cleaner.
Dave you should talk to that nuclear plant about developing a nuke powered buffer and sprayer. Then we could change our slogan to “Cant stand the dirt and stains in your carpet? Want to get rid of it once and for all? Let us nuke em clean!”October 21, 2008 at 8:36 pm #152717pachecoParticipantAmmon…I have put the 101, mixed in a 32 oz sprayer, heated and sprayed.
It works great. Just have not incorporated into practice. I thought of buying a microwave and using in the van with an inverter. I would not like to use in a customer;s micro…
By the way…seeing the steam plumes from the 2 reactors almost every day is all I can stand…
October 22, 2008 at 11:11 pm #152718chez6996ParticipantI sure wish I could see those “steam plumes” from my house, maybe my fuel charge from FPL would not be $150.00 per month!!!!!!!
October 27, 2008 at 3:23 pm #152719NJ05ParticipantO.K. Please forgive me for suggesting a dual process. I will never mention Dual Process again, nor will I ever Use Dual process again..Dual process is inferior..it takes a long time too..in fact i am removing all equipment from my van that might even look like i might even think about doing Dual processing..thanks to all for turning me around …what on earth was I thinking ?
