I’ve cleaned for about 20 churches in the last 3 years, some yearly. I offer all churches and church affiliated buildings an automatic 30% off my reg. commercial rate. I also offer an additional 10% off if members of the parish move all items from the area. I never up-charge when cleaning for churches (no stain or candle wax charges). I also offer stain protector at “near cost”. In addition to the other church specials, I also offer 12 months interest free financing. This option is seldom taken advantage of, and if it is, the agreement is sealed with an old-fashioned hand shake and a smile. I feel this developes an added trust and respect between vendor and customer. A great way to get your foot in the door of a church is to look for church that has a car in their parking lot, walk in and say HI.
I charge 20 cents to clean and protect.
I have a few churches we clean for on a regular basis. Like any commercial accoount, we consider the duration, condition and frequency the cleaning will require. We offer a maint. program that offers; 1) First time cleaning, 2) Monthly, Quarterly, 2x/yr & annual cleanings. Our current rates are between .20-35/sqft. When submitting the proposal/bid, I determine the man hours and product that is required, not so much the sqft.
We clean our own church as a tithe. Other churches have inquired and we would clean for $.15 to $.18 per square foot. Offer church offices for free or as a tithe to their church. This has worked well for us.
