I had a customer call me today to see if I could remove chocolate fondu from an area rug. She spilled a whole pot of fondu on the rug. I am wondering if I should try to remove the chocolate stain 1st, then work on the parafin that was in the fondu?

    Dave,
That’s the way I’t approach it. Chocolate first, then the wax.

blood remoover worked for me on some tough chocolate stains.if the area rug is wool though, and white to boot, well good luck.i have not always removed that typye of stain.although the nylon carpet your chances are better, but there are some tangibles.

Pull the rug and take it back to your shop/home to clean it. Then you can try a few things and charge more to clean it. Also, no mater what you try run your air mover on it and dry it as quick as possible

Several years ago, my wife and I were at a party of one of our customers. They had chocolate fondue and we were sitting in the dining room. At some point, the customer and about half the group were in the room with us and we all heard a collective scream from the living room….thought they were joking and just a little tipsy. The owner went to investigate.

About 10 minutes later he returned saying to me ” you just got a lot of customers” of course I asked , “why”. He then told the group how someone had dripped a blob of hot chocolate fondue on the white pile carpet we had cleaned a few days before….He then explained that he went to the sink, got the sprayer and rag and went in, sprayed, blotted and wiped and voila!, gone…

    I got a bunch of customers….

    I know, I know…wouldn’t work again…it did that evening 3-4 years ago.

The Blood Remover seemed to work the best!
