Hey Ya’ll, My name is Danny White from Palm Bay, Florida. I would like to know if anyone out there has any info on the century extractor unit. The good and the bad. I have some interest in it and would like some info.
Thanks DannyMay 19, 2008 at 3:02 am #152093AnonymousInactiveDanny,
I have posted on it in the past. May search for that post on the board. I have one and love it. Good points are that it has heat (biggest point in my opinion) and has good output versus suction. I couldn’t imagine trying to clean the dog spots in my area without it. I don’t think the upholstery mate can do it as quickly. I think the heat is a huge advantage if you have to clean furniture and also doesn’t hurt for those nasty carpets that you may have to extract before buffing. Only real negative in my opinion is the size. If you are a one man operation, it is tougher to lug it into a home than the uphostery mate. And forget about it if you have a tight spiral staircase and just yourself to move it. I try to leave the solution tank low as solution adds weight. I have a full time helper, so we can very easily muscle it where it needs to go. It also takes up more room in the van which may be an issue if you don’t have a full-size van. Sometimes it can be a pain to dump the recovery tank mid-job if you are sucking up a lot whereas the upholstery mate it is easier to just empty the jug. It’s recovery tank is over 10 gallons I believe, so you don’t have to dump it mid-job that often though.
Every area and every operators situation is different, but me personally, I couldn’t imagine not having it. Just my 2 cents.

I have a ramp that I built for my van, because I had surgery in 04′. Also I drive a full size chevy with tons of room. One last thing Laura you did an awesome job on fri at the seminar.
Too bad we couldn’t talk you into hanging out with all us southeners at the pool hall drinking some beer. Old ron had to take his geritol and go to bed Ha Ha.
