I am putting this one here because I don’t think that there is a lot of action in the carpet repair section. I have been re-stretching carpets for over year now. I finally put it in my yellow page ads this year. I have had six jobs this week because I clean carpet and re-stretch. How many time have you seen carpets that needing re-stretching? How many time do they ask “Do you know of anybody?” It is rare that I don’t have one week. The cost is about $1200 for everything from power stretcher to staple gun to knee kicker to blades for your carpet knife. I still haven’t had to replenish anything yet and when I do it will be pennies. It is long been paid for and now it is just sweat and about $100 an hour. Our main focus of course is still carpet. In stead of a $200 bill you can get a $350 bill and still have one customer.
I clean and re-stretched a house last week that was going on the market. They thought that they would have to put in a carpet allowance because of the carpet had been chewed back about 1 inch. After the clean and the fixing of the carpet they no longer are going to have a carpet allowance.
We all have had stories like this and people think we a hero. I really think that if you can spend an hour on your knees then you should be adding this on to the list of things that you do. I am in the middle of training one of my tech to do this and he will be on his knees making me $85 an hour re-stretching. It really is easy to do and I would love to teach anybody because I know it will help all the people who decide to do this. That’s what the bulletin board is for.
There is even tool that helps in most cases so you don’t or the customers doesn’t have to empty out the whole room. Call me please if you have any questions 970-568-9455. I have the phone attached to my ear just like everyone else.

A year or so later, my son got certified in repairing…and the $150 just has kept on cachinging ever since. I also purchased a Certified carpet brush and have yet to use it very often…but we will…
The dyeing kit is in the mail and we are going to have some fun with this…
Hope this helps a little….EBay is awesome..

I got lucky and got the training from my father in-law and he installed carpet for 8 years. I have been doing it a little here and there when people ask for it or when I say that I can fix that. I did spend a little more than dave did but I have everything you need to do a complete installation although that’s not what I am doing but it allows me to do the repair right. I do recommend taking some kind of class from some one that knows what they are doing. It will help you speed up the process and fix things the right way. Really the main reason for me doing this is that there are other carpet cleaners that do this as well. One more thing to set us apart from the rest.
