Anyone had any issues with the durability of their Minuteman buffer? I still only have my 2 Nobles (and one old school Matador) so I can’t comment on it, but I had a neighbor operator just borrow my Matador b/c the handle on their Minuteman snapped off at the base. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Or have there been any other issues with the Matador? Think the nobles issues (handle/base cracking where they join) have been documented on the board, can’t think of any others, but please list them if you do. I’m sure Big John is aware of most of them as well, but can’t hurt to list them just in case.
I have two nobles and have replaced the handles and bases three times. I need to replace the base on one of them right now. I wonder if I could epoxy or J B Weld them back together. When I purchased them they said they had a lifetime warranty on the plastic, but after talking to John the last time I needed a part, he said it was hard to get replacement parts. I hope to be able to buy new ones (not plastic) buffers at some point. Other than that I haven’t had any other problems.
I have the Minuteman and a grey Nobles buffer. The Minuteman is 3.5 years old now.
Repairs on the Minuteman:
Replaced 50′ cord
Replaced cord from handle to base
Plastic cord wrap broke off – haven’t replaced yet
Replaced rubber bumper twice – finally gave up and haven’t replaced it again
The metal bell is prone to denting just from riding in the van. I need to replace this piece, but haven’t done it yet.
