Just wondering how many of you guys where booties on the job.
July 15, 2006 at 2:01 am #147108AnonymousInactiveWe bought some and didn’t like them. We just take too many trips in and out. I often times lay a pad at the door and wipe my shoes when coming in and out. We always walk on the pavement and never venture through the grass. This seems to work fine for us.
July 15, 2006 at 2:14 am #147109AnonymousGuestWe buy booties by the boxes. At the end of the job, we ask customers to stay off carpet for 1-2 hours, if they need to walk on carpet before completely dry, we ask them to wear the booties. Our customers are now used to the booties and request them, sometimes for each family member. They are also very popular with realtors. If we are cleaning for an open house, we usually leave extras for their showing.
The booties are not practical for our techs, they simply place a drop cloth in the entry and wipe their shoes w/our HB solution if needed.

I wear tennis shoes that are completely white with a full white sole also and they work great. It is also easier to check them for dirt when going in & out of the house. There are times though when you’ve got a house with no real side walk – and you find yourself carrying equip over gravel etc. – or – when there’s that bright white carpet that shows it all … then it’s a good idea!!

While cleaning room #1, your shoes will also get cleaned.

Also, they are not slippery like rubber soled shoes or sneakers are when wet with residual HB cleaner. Seemed dumb to me to clean a carpet and then go back onto the carpet with dirty shoes (dirty from the areas walked on and not cleaned) for grooming or post-vacuuming.
We give them out to customers, realtors and anyone who may be walking on the carpet while lightly damp…makes a heck of a good impression, or so I have been told.
