I was reading some older posts and I see that a lot of you use the bbc pads on regular pile carpets. I’ve only used them on berbers and/or commercial carpets because I thought that they were to aggressive. Need more feedback on this because if it’ll clean the dirt out of the high traffic areas faster without hurting the carpet, then I’m all for it. I realize that the carpet will have to be more wet than usual to be safe but I still dont want to try it without some tips first.
Look forward to some feedback. My main worry is that it’ll not only potentially tear up the carpet immediately but in the long run if it’s not goin to do any immediate damage,I worry about it fuzzin up the carpet sooner than normal…you know…wearing out the twist.

That was my fear early on too. Nothing to worry about though. I use them all the time now and have never seen them damage carpet. If you come across cheap carpet, you may get a little more fuzzing, but only on carpet where you would already probably get fuzzing with your other pads anyway. No extra step needed when you use them. Clean away!
February 12, 2010 at 10:34 pm #154246foobarMemberThanks Dave I will use them now and I wont fear…..do you use them in conjunction with the napper or instead of when you do a standard cleaning? Splain a lil for me maybe?
February 13, 2010 at 1:51 am #154247AnonymousInactiveI don’t use them directly with the dirt napper plate. I don’t think they will fit the dirt napper plate, or at least they won’t fit the plates I have. Normally I would use either the dirt napper plate or the bbc. I prefer the bbc as then I don’t have to keep switching plates for the buffer, but situation dictates. I have been known to use the dirt napper plate, then follow with the bbc pads, then other pads/towels as needed (if that makes sense).

February 18, 2010 at 11:42 pm #154249AnonymousInactiveI havent ordered the BBC pads in along time, have either of you noticed the brown strip coming off when you wash it. The last time I washed them some of the brown strip came off. Then when I cleaned carpet with them it came off at the customers house. I guess im wondering if they have gotten any better?
February 22, 2010 at 10:22 pm #154250AnonymousInactiveI really like to use a bbc in the dirtnapper. This is the way we start on almost every job no matter what type of carpet. If the carpet fuzzes excessively, we discontinue to bbc and move to other pads. I would personally love to see the HB store offer a size down for the bbc’s so they would be better accomodated in the dirtnapper. John ? ? ? ?
February 23, 2010 at 12:08 am #154251HB2003ParticipantI really like the BBC and primarily use them. I have noticed some of the brown strands coming when they are washed over time, but not had any bad experiences with them coming off on the job…

March 4, 2010 at 5:49 am #154253foobarMemberMan I love these things…where have you been all my carpet cleaning life…like I said I was afraid to you them because I thought it would wear the carpet down. But now I use them all the time. If there was a time that it was borderoine whether to use the dirtnapper or not, I would always use it and then have to clean the darn thing out. Now I just use the BBC and throw it in the wash when done …and they do a great job of cleaning….theyre expensive….might complain a little more when I have to buy some more….but until then……me likey!
