When I’ve had employees, I hired them as asst. managers. I did so because it made them feel important and more responsible. Asst. manager over Customer Relations. I have paid my Asst. Managers this way… 10% for base pay and 25% for Asst. Manager responsibilities. (If they only want 10% you have the wrong person) For the 25% they must maintain 95% customer satisfaction over a three month period.
How I monitor this? My AM knows that with in 24 hrs of the job a mature female will call and the phone call well go something like this…
Hi, Mrs Jones, this is Jane from the Heaven’s Best Quality Control Division. Yesterday at 3PM Heaven’s Best was there to clean your carpets. Can I ask you a few questions? Were they there on time? Were they clean, neat, and professional? Would you use Heaven’s Best again? (I chose three or four questions from the eval cards). Jim was there cleaning, he recommended the carpets be cleaned every six months. Could THEY send you a reminder card in about five and a half months? Would that be okay?
Do not ask for the appointment time or day. This is a call for quality control.
After you send out the reminder card you can call about three days later of they have not called you.

    What are your thoughts?

Gordon, thats a great way to keep our employees from doing a “wham, bam, thank you mam”.

    Gordon,

It was great meeting you. You explained your pay plan to some of us at the seminar and I really like the way you have it set up. It covers production, quality, and timeliness. I beleive Barry L. mentioned that system as well during his time on stage.

Once I get to the point of hiring on employees, I think I will use this system or a derivative of it. Thanks a ton…
