In 2 years I have only done a handful of Tile and Grout jobs. I have it in all of my standard advertising that I clean Tile and Grout, but NEVER recieve any calls. What are some of you doing to market this service that do it regularly? I have considered adding an ad in the Tile and Grout section of the Yellow Pages, but am not sure where that will go.

One of my operators went down to the local store that sells the most tile and told them that they do the work. They have had a least three referrals from them in the last five months.

Water got under the cabinets and apparently leaked through the floor to the basement. It was discovered by the owner and me when we went down to inspect the steps to the basement….no damage, thankfully!!!!!!!! All exposed areas in the bath were dry.
If there had been a finished basement and whatever, down there, it could have been a real disaster. No more for me…without a lot of investigating.

Our tile and grout business has been growing throughout the year. Previous owner did not do this, so we have been educating our clients that we offer this service. We always tell clients all the services we offer when we are in their home. As more and more homeowners are turning to tile and grout in at least part of their homes, this is a key service and good revenue as far as I am concerned.

I would think that wood and possibly carpeting would be used to give some insulation from the cold ground.

It seems that surface cleaning the grout does not do near as good of a job as using an extraction method with psi. I was told by our state owner that Head Quarters was looking into a better method to serve our clients. ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

October 24, 2008 at 10:58 pm #151113Bill SquiresModeratorUse FAE first then Hard Surface Cleaner and scrub and extract. I find it takes 2 times over same area to get all out. Also must be rinsed well and dry before sealing
October 29, 2008 at 2:54 am #151114HBplantcityflaParticipantAlaska has a pretty fair share of TandG. Lots of kitchens, entrys and specialty areas. Normally you would think that it is very cold, but many homes here have infloor heat. It is very efficient and runs off of a boiler system. The tile actually radiates the heat.
October 29, 2008 at 12:08 pm #151115pachecoParticipantI am familiar with the technology. If I was going to build a new home all flooring would have underfloor heat with a solar hot water heater and boiler backup. Just didn’t think that there would have been that much up there…
