Anyone looked into Amazon Home Services, or gone one step further and is doing it? Just curious as I have been getting emails from them about this service. Wondering if it is something that can even work for our type of business or not. Seems like it is a combination of Groupon and Angie’s List. You might be able to get great reviews to increase your business (i.e. Angie’s List type service), but customer pays for the service through Amazon (i.e. Groupon) and Amazon is taking a cut (20% up to $1k, 15% over $1k). Unfortunately, this service might be able to work if you charge per the room, but if you charge per the square foot (i.e. me), it is really tough to “pre-sell” your services at a specific price. That said, Amazon is the Walmart of the internet, so getting them to help you increase your business can’t be a bad thing if you can find a way to make it work.
I would like to get more info on Amazon Home Services but cant get a rep to call back. I also charge per the square foot. But i think i can come up with a way to make it work. Say up to 150 or 200 square foot per room or something. I think Amazon would work if the price is right. Anybody doing this ?
I never heard that they even offered those services. Please post when you find out when you have more information, thanks
