Since we charge by the sq. ft and offer free estimates in our advertising, this is a short script we kind of follow in those cases…
Free Estimate/Walk Thru
In order to further convenience our customers, because we here at Heaven’s Best understand the value of your time, we offer what we like to call a “walk-through”.
This is a same day estimate/cleaning appointment.
This service is for customers who need a price as well as a cleaning in a specific amount of time, without having to make 2 separate appointments.
This service is where we set up an appointment to give an estimate in the home with the intention of staying that day to actually perform the service.
You the customer only need to set up a day and time that is convenient for you.
We then, walk thru, take the measurements, incorporate the discount and any additional specific services you may require (additional rooms, hardwood floors, tile, upholstery ect.) and if you are pleased with us and the price we can actually stay and do the work that day.
If not, we say our goodbyes and part as friends, with no charge to you the customer.
In other words…”free estimate”.

In the event the home owner is unable to be present we pretty much handle the call in this manner…This service is where we set up an appointment to give an estimate in the home with the intention of staying that day to actually perform the service.
You the customer only need to set up a day and time that is convenient for you to be available “by phone” and a way of entry for us, be it a neighbor or relative holding the key.
We then, walk thru, take the measurements, incorporate the discount and any additional specific services you may require (additional rooms, hardwood floors, tile, upholstery ect.) we then call you to confirm the price and if you are pleased with us and the price we can actually stay and do the work that day. This service also provides the customer a way to “stay in control” of the appointment without having to physically be present.
A convenient payment via credit card by phone or a check present by key holder is acceptable.
If for any reason you should decline, we say our goodbyes and part as friends with no charge to you the customer.
In other words…”free estimate”.
“““““““““““““““““““““““““““““`As far as offering hardwood floors, tile and grout we cherry pick.
We know by the first 3 digits in the phone number whether it’s a “high end” area telling us that they are pretty much new floors.
We have been offering this free estimate thing for about 6 years or maybe even longer (can’t remember) and only been turned away maybe once or twice (can’t remember that either) but I do remember that it was Cody who helped us change over from actually going and actually “doing” free estimates to doing what “he” called a “walk thru”.
We just added our own personal touch.Depending on the volume of calls, I estimate every 5 out of 10 calls works this way because we pretty much gear the conversation towards our “script”, either the whole script or parts of it, but it is pretty much our foundation for our calls.
If anyone has any ideas on how to “tweak” it suggestions would be greatly appreciated! As the saying goes…”There’s no such thing as the perfect sales pitch”.
