Happy New Year!

Hello everyone,

On behalf of the corporate office, we would like to wish you a happy new year, and a prosperous 2020. I hope everyone had a joyous holiday season and that Santa brought everyone all that they had asked for.

As we start the 2020 year, I think it’s a great idea to look back on the goals that you might have set for yourself and your business in 2019 and see how you did in achieving those goals. Now is a great time to set your goals for 2020. Are you going to start charging more, are you going to start advertising more, are you going to try calling on businesses/commercial clients that maybe you have not called on in a few years, are you going to increase your footprint into social media, what other forms of advertising do you plan on doing to increase your top-line revenue?
These are just a few ideas for goals that might benefit you in this coming year. It might not be a bad idea to call some fellow operators, and see what kind of goals they have put forth for themselves.

We continue to hear and see the positive feedback about Google local service ads and we would encourage you to call the number below and look at getting set up.

I hope everyone is doing well and getting busier with the change of weather. Google has a new advertising campaign that is called Google Local Service Ads, which is pay per call instead of pay per click. Google does a free background check and verifies each business insurance and license. This new service is getting greater exposure and pops up on the side advertising the business that is Google Certified. Their contact number is 1-833-272-1444. You can also access it online, but it is easier to let a representative walk you through it.
An advantage of this service is you can narrow the exposure to a specific area, so that you are not paying for leads outside your area. Plan on setting your budget high, for example, mine is set at $400 per week. I only paid $66.00 my first week and was able to book 6 jobs. You will have an app on your phone that you will be able to monitor it daily. My son in Long Beach had his budget set at $700 per week, but only used 25% of his budget and was able to book the majority of the leads. There is an advantage to setting the budget high to get the most exposure, but you can decrease the budget at anytime”

We are trying to communicate more with everyone out there. There are mass emails being sent about markdown pricing on equipment, supplies etc. but we are only seeing around 50% of the operators out there that are opening the emails. If we send an email out, please understand that there will be important information in it that could benefit you as an operator.
We have asked you to verify all of your information on your account on the corporate website as far as your email, your website URL address, and phone numbers. I have received some calls from some of you that you are not getting the mass emails, and we need to hear about that so we can go into the database and verify all of the information. In order to do that, we need your help to make sure each and every one of you is visible with the correct information out there.

Please note that the bulletin board that has not been used for a while is back up and active, right up there next to the newsletters. This bulletin board has a lot of information on it from being used for many many years, and we would encourage you all to go in and start using this as a resource, a sort of sounding board, and share ideas that can be helpful to all of you.

As we start the year we will be ramping up our attendance at Franchise shows and such to hopefully increase franchise sales. I would like to remind you about the $5000 referral bonus that will be paid to each of you that refers a new franchisee in an unowned territory. Referrals that come from you all that end up buying a franchise normally are very successful operators because they have come from you and they have seen and heard directly from you about the business and we would ask that you please keep potential new referrals in mind.

Please note that the end-of-the-year specials are continuing through the end of the month, and the big one is the #201 WOVEN TURF PADS, buy five cases get one free or buy 10 cases and get two free. I know some of you have taken advantage of this right at the end of the year, and we are going to continue this through the end of January. This is a great deal, and this will help your business by having fresh pads from a drying and agitation standpoint. I would encourage everyone to go back and look at the last time that they had replaced their pads.

Google My Business’ New Messaging App

To receive messages via the new app you will have to turn on the “Message” feature. By doing so, your customers will see a “Message” button on your Google My Business listing and will be able to message you at any time. So now, instead of receiving an SMS from a customer, you will receive a message through the new FREE Google My Business messaging app.

All you need to do to keep getting messages from customers is to complete the following steps:

1) Download the free Google My Business messaging app on your phone.
2) Log in with your Google account
3) Tap the ‘Customers’ tab
4) Select ‘Messages’
5) Tap ‘Turn on messaging’

Benefits of the Google My Business Messaging App:
– customize your welcome message
– receive notifications (e.g., carpet cleaning request for estimate)
– add employees to help respond quickly to customers
– provide customers with your name and profile photo from your About Me page if you choose

John’s Fix-it Corner

I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. I hope that you will have the strength to fulfill all of your New Year’s resolutions. If any of you get cold this winter give me a call. I received plenty of coal this year. My wife said I shouldn’t have received even that!!

As we start this new year, I would like you to stop and think over the past year. See what you can do differently and make some improvements. I have a couple of suggestions that might help you improve your bottom line. I talked to a lot of Heaven’s Best people over the year, and a lot tell me that they are too busy and don’t have time to stop and sell Fabric Protector or Spotter Sprayer. This is the easiest way to make more money. There is no advertising, no wear and tear on your van or additional gas. One of our great operators has sold almost all of his customers Fabric Protector in one year. He told me that he has sold 110 gallons of fabric protector and the sales of that boosted his year-end total by 33%. He said that he doesn’t ask if they want it. It is sold as a package deal for one price.  “Can’t” and “this won’t work in my area” is not in his vocabulary. Do the math!!!

With the addition of our hardwood floor package and our tile and grout package, you operators should be looking around you in every home. See if they have hardwood, tile, upholstery or carpet. Don’t let yourself get into a rut by thinking you can only clean carpet.

With a new year here, ask yourself, “What can I do differently to make my business better?” Take advantage of all the programs we offer. And remember – we are just a phone call away if you need help.
