Happy February!
Hello, Heaven’s Best team,
We are trying to communicate with all of you more than has been done in the past. We would ask that you be mindful and please read the emails that are coming your way. These emails should only take you 1 to 2 minutes to read, but are very valuable in the information that’s in there. We have been sending out emails on sale items that are great deals for you, and have extended some of the sale items (ie. the woven turf pads that you use every day). You can buy five cases and get one free or buy 10 cases and get two free. This was supposed to end in December but I have extended it through the end of February. There has also been an email that’s been going out weekly on the upcoming seminars, and we would ask that if at all possible you attend one of them. Please RSVP to the appropriate email address. You can go to any regional seminar that you choose.
We will be adding some additional information on the company store so it will be easier to find the monthly sale item that Bill puts out, and new items that we’ll be carrying (i.e. equipment and clothing and promotional items). You will also be able to find those items in the new products area as well.
We are looking at new attire to wear on a daily basis, and for dress-up events. Those will be coming soon to the store. We have added a really nice OGIO brand quarter zip-up golf-style pull-over at a very reasonable price. I have also placed an order for 2 different types of koozies, backpacks, and canvas bags, and I am open to suggestions on more promo items! We have put in the past several months of newsletters that we would highly encourage you to explore the Google Local Service Ads opportunity. Everyone Dan Child and I have talked to is having great success with this program. There are franchisees out there that are actually switching over to this program, versus the Google Ad Words campaigns that they have had.
“Dear California Franchise Owners,
I hope everyone is doing well and getting busier with the change of weather. Google has a new advertising campaign that is called Google Local Service Ads, which is pay per call instead of pay per click. Google does a free background check and verifies each business insurance and license. This new service is getting greater exposure and pops up on the side advertising the business that is Google Certified. Their contact number is 1-833-272-1444. You can also access it online, but it is easier to let a representative walk you through it.
An advantage of this service is you can narrow the exposure to a specific area, so that you are not paying for leads outside your area. Plan on setting your budget high, for example, mine is set at $400 per week. I only paid $66.00 my first week and was able to book 6 jobs. You will have an app on your phone that you will be able to monitor it daily. My son in Long Beach had his budget set at $700 per week, but only used 25% of his budget and was able to book the majority of the leads. There is an advantage to setting the budget high to get the most exposure, but you can decrease the budget at anytime”
There was a post recently on the Facebook Heaven’s Best owners group about reviving old customers or generating business from previous customers. As we are hopefully approaching the last month of winter it might be a good idea to look at ServiceMonster or some of your old customers that you have not heard from in a while, and reach out to them with a reminder postcard or any other marketing ideas that you have or you’ve been using.
We also wanted to give you an update on the royalty fees. Cody had first initiated a 10% increase in October 2016. There was supposed to be a 10% increase every October for 4 to 5 years, but that did not happen because of Cody‘s passing and the franchise system being up for sale. We did the second increase in April 2018, and we will be doing the next increase in April 2020.
This year we are also transitioning as a lot of you have already done to Automatic payments on the royalty fees that will be coming out on the same day every month. The goal is to have the royalty fee option removed from the company store. This will be no different than how you pay for ServiceMonster, and your website, and things of that nature.
I have been in discussions with more manufacturing companies with new innovative equipment like an Orbital machine, CRB machine, an extraction machine that is powerful and light enough to use in between the UpholsteryMate and the Nautilus.
We have signed on with Franchise Business Review, and there will be a survey going out to each and every one of you. We would ask for your help in answering the survey. We hopefully will be able to use it for franchise sales opportunities, as we are trying to grow this business, which will be a benefit to all of us out there. We will use the overall results as a voice from all of you to continue on the path that would be most beneficial for all of us. We want to hear from you, and we are listening to you and your thoughts and suggestions, and that’s why the franchise advisory board was started This way we can keep moving in a positive direction.
As a friendly reminder, the corporate portal monthly report area is up and functioning and we ask that you all get current on your monthly reports.
We appreciate all you do!
Respectfully,
Robert Ashcraft
