    Just some nuggets of info that I received in a seminar I went to for everyone to chew on……

    -39% of people have used a professional carpet cleaner (so 61% are out there waiting for you…..or maybe they aren’t worth your time and effort b/c they just jump from rental to rental, who knows)
    -60+ age group – 56% hired a pro to clean their carpet
    -10,000 baby boomers will turn 65 every day for next 15 years and they control 70% of the wealth (75 million baby boomers total)

    Hot buttons for Boomers
    1. Market to their stage in life, not their age.
    2. They are not going to use DIY machines.
    3. They want to beautify their homes.
    4. Use positive images only! (Old people don’t like negative)
    5. Appeal to their value (Charities, schools, etc.)

    People make buying decisions based on feelings. (i.e. My carpet is cleaner, healthier, and dries so much faster than if I did it myself, now I have more time for kids/grandkids).

    Even though we obviously don’t use truckmounts, I love seeing ads for steam cleaners that boast how powerful and hot their truck mounts are versus the competition. Tim “the Toolman” Taylor and the rest of the guys out there love reading about anything that is bigger and has more power………..too bad it’s Jill Taylor that’s scheduling the job and she could care less about that stuff. Know your market!

    Just some food for thought if/when you’re gearing up advertising for the summer rush if you haven’t already.

    Sadly, within 15 years I will be that seasoned citation (65+). I am NOT running for office, but I agree with what has been posted.

    Oh how at laugh at your post, it is so true, I bought a Heaven’s Best franchise in Florida over 20 years ago for just that reason. The older people have all the wealth and they don’t want to rent a machine, they want to hire me,(and they did). Now 20 years later, I’m one of those “baby boomers” UGH!!!!!!!!

    I wish they would have used you in that survey, they would have been shocked how clean their carpets came out, and for the quoted price !!!!!!!

    This is a another good reminder of the importance of …
    Small town or big city. You never know who’s got a hidden camera/cell/video on you cleaning, marketing, driving, etc. With youtube out there, I can see a day in the very near future when one or more of us will be on display for the world to see. We need to live up to the name “Heaven’s Best” in all we do. I love Heaven’s Best. I love that it has been a great vehicle to provide for my family’s needs (and wants within reason) and all trends indicate it will be so, long, long, into the future. I’m proud to be associated with you!
