Perma Plate is a company out of Utah that sells a protector for auto interiors and a finish for an auto exterior. We contacted them a few years back, but never got very far with them. Earlier this year we were able to get them to send a few of our operators the opportunity to service some of their Warranty claims. The way the process works is Perma Plate will email a warranty claim to the Heaven’s Best Corporate Office. Linda will receive the email and determine which operator the claim should be serviced by. She will email you the warranty claim. The claim gives you the customer’s information. You need to contact the customer as soon as possible, at least within 24 hours of receiving the claim. Once you have contacted the customer you need to email Perma Plate and let them know that you have the job scheduled. If you are unable to make contact with the customer, you should email Perma Plate letting them know you have been trying to contact the customer, but have not yet heard back from them. When you contact the customer, you should let them know that you are from Heaven’s Best Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning and have been hired by Perma Plate to take care of the Warranty claim.

On each claim you should take a before and after picture of the attempted cleaning which you need to email to Perma Plate along with you invoice billing Perma Plate for the work you did. Many of these jobs will be very good, but just like everything you will run into some of these jobs that will be a mess. Perma Plate has not given us any limit as to what we can charge. Some of these jobs will only take 10-15 minutes and you can charge your minimum. Perma Plate will pay us $80.00 per hour if it surpasses our minimum. Perma Plate will only pay us for cleaning the spots. After you have completed the Perma Plate warranty claim, you should try and pick up more work for yourself as a Heaven’s Best representative. You need to ask for more work from them such as cleaning the rest of the auto interior, or carpet or upholstery in their home. If you ask for additional work a lot of the people will have you do additional work for them., especially after they see how well you did on their auto interior. If you don’t ask the answer is already no.

I would like a lot of the operators to post some of their experiences on this forum to help each other out as to know how to charge for completing the warranty claims. One of our operators in Florida has been receiving about 10 claims a week, the last few weeks. Most of his jobs have been very good and he is making goood money doing these warranty claims. Chad I hope you will respond to this and let other know how this is working for you. I invite all of you who have completed one of these claims to list your experience on this forum.

Is there anything we need to fill out to get jobs or does it all go through HB Corp.?

    Mike,

Everything comes through corporate. It’s pretty easy IMO. Schedule job and notify Perma Plate, go out and take before/after photos and fill out the warranty paperwork that corporate forwards to you with all the contact info. When you’re finished, scan and email pics and filled out paperwork back to them. I haven’t worked with other warranty companies due to horror stories from the process/price involved, but so far I haven’t had any issues with Perma Plate. I realize that the warranty companies have to make a buck, but so do I, so if it isn’t worth my time, I’ll turn them down. These have been so far. Payment has usually been within 30 days and I have charged at least my minimum ($100) for every job and not heard a complaint. That said, most have been our minimum charge, so it’s not like you are going to retire off these jobs, but most of the work is pretty easy and often times you are done in 15-30 mins. Only had one take an hour and two of us cleaned all of the interior (2 front seats and whole back seat in an SUV-see pics of back seats below) on a Saturday and charged $175 for it because it had a LOT of spots/spills/water marks and we basically had to “detail” the whole interior. Find me a car wash that will charge you less AND come to your house to do it. Only downside so far is that you’re dealing with upholstery and may need extraction, which can be tough to do if a power source isn’t near to the vehicle (i.e. cleaning car at customer’s work location or large apt complex), so just keep that in mind if you get any of these jobs. We have actually been contemplating getting a power inverter installed in our van, which would allow us to run the Spot Plus Extractor, and possibly Ninja minus heat, off the van. We have one of these jobs today and one tomorrow, and have probably done about 10-15 total so far. We haven’t gotten any additional work out of these yet, but we’ll see.

    Cody,

PermaPlate claims have been fantastic. I have been doing a bunch of them every week. Not only is it work to fill in the gaps on your schedule, but make sure to let these people know what else we can do for them. I have been able to pick up some other work from these claims. These customers think we are auto detailers, so be sure to ask for the work. PermaPlate has paid me on some of the claims in less than two weeks. These claims are a great opportunity to grow your business without paying for advertising while getting paid for the work. For the most part these claims are easy work.

Had my first PermaPlate job last week. Very similar to Guardsman except that you can charge more than a minimum if the job warrants. Took 40 minutes to clean 5 car placemats that were very soiled. Charged $90. Great way to get more work inside the home.

    Yeah,

I started receiving Permaplate jobs the last two months, and have done eight jobs. Most of the work has taken me 40 minutes from the time I set up and finish. I have been charging 85.00, but two the the jobs required an hour and half so we had to charge 125.00, but I feel it is easy money. The carpet, and seats in the vehicles clean up easy for the most part. It is the car mat on the drivers side that takes a little work.(used fast acting enzyme on the car mats).
