I would like to bid some city jobs, but they include janitorial services as well as carpet and tile. The biggest buildings average about 12,000 square feet. How do I structure a bid? Has any one done bidding for jobs before? Do you have a format to the bids you write? Would you be willing to share that with me?
Many of our operators will sub out some of the services that they do not do with the franchise, such as janitorial. There are many janitorial companies that do not clean carpet. It may be wise to connect with a good janitorial company that you can for those jobs you bid that require janitorial as part of the bid. They can teach you how to bid the janitorial portion, and you can teach them how to bid out the carpet cleaning. The two of you can then use each other in each of your own field of expertise.
I have sub contracted out to a cleaning company in corpus christi. They go online and find new construction jobs through a site they found and then give me the carpet and tile jobs. Its nice because they do the legwork and I get the work. I give them a percentage or flat rate according to the job size and they do all the setting up along with their cleaning schedule.
I need some help on bidding for a huge government building. Over 23,000 square ft. of carpet and then at least that in upholstery (siding of cubical walls, inside and out). I am getting more info on the job but what they have “said” is that it is a once a month job.
One big problem is that in the job description it requires “Steam Cleaning”. Not sure how to deal with this. Can you convince them of Low Moisture or should I just plan on using the Ninja?
Only two other companies were invited to bid. Both are HWE truck mount method.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Don,
I would see if you could clean a dirty room or area for free and let them know the advantages of using our low moisture process. Also the fact that all of our equipment is portable and there is no need to drag hoses around. Good luck!
