I cleaned a hallway in an apartment building yesterday and someone had ridden a bicycle down the hall, locked the brakes and slid to a stop thus leaving a black tire mark about four feet long down the center of the hall. The carpet is a standard commercial olefin, mostly beige in color. I tried everything in my spotter tray and extracted but the mark is still there. Just wondering if any of you have any ideas or have run into this?

It might be slightly burnt. Olefin has a pretty low melting point compared to other carpets.

    I agree with Brett.

I’d remove the word “slightly” and replace the word “burnt” with “melted”

then I’d agree with both Brett and Dave

I have cleaned in a home where the woman rides around in one of those hoverounds. Her tire marks will not come out of the carpet either.
