Can anyone educate me on static electricity? A local hotel called and they say they are receiving complaints from some of their customers, when they insert the key in the locks to their rooms they get zapped! This is a very old upscale hotel that still use keys to their rooms. I believe that humidity may be a factor. Any way they wanted to know if I could clean some of the carpets and spray something to help.

Only thing I could think of to help your client. Hope this helps.
Is this a hotel you have been cleaning recently? If so, the static electricity may have increased as the % of moisture in the air decreased w/ the low moisture cleaning. Liquid gold, otherwise known as stain protector, will help to reduce static shocks. What a great way to sell protector!!!!!!!
No I have never cleaned for this hotel, hope to get in though, they like most grand resorts have there own carpet cleaning equipment. I want to help them out with this static problem, while we are there they can see our carpet cleaning process in action. I am meeting with them in 2 weeks.
Would our protector really help control the static problem? If so I am one happy guy we are looking at 20,000 sq ft they want sprayed!
