I have been considering purchasing the new kit and would like some feedback on some of you that have it.
What was the learning curve like?
Are you able to be more time efficient with it?
Do you charge more?
December 15, 2007 at 5:08 am #151122AnonymousGuestWe received the leather cleaning kit with our new package and I find it provides better overall cleaning & more efficient. We charge $100-140 for couches, $130-175 for sectionals and $80-110 for love seats. The tote carries everything needed for leather cleaning, conditioning, protectant & cheat sheet/manual; all you need is a bucket & towels. Hope this helps.

How much leather do you clean? We haven’t bought the new kit yet, as we have cleaned very little leather with the old method.
Thanks,
Barry

We only clean 2-4 pieces a month so the kit should last approximately 1yr. It is totally worth it due to the ease of cleaning with everything included and paid for itself after the first cleaning. I am hoping our techs will be inspired to clean more leather with this new method.

January 18, 2008 at 4:20 am #151126AnonymousInactiveWe are going to go on a BIG leather cleaning push with all our clients for 2008.
There is money to be made on those cows.January 18, 2008 at 3:04 pm #151127AnonymousGuestBayden:
I could easily clean a full-size leather couch in 20-25mins. It might take my techs 30-35min. It is a great opportunity to educate your customers on our leather cleaning system. Many times I will ask a customer if we are cleaning upholstery when they are scheduling carpet cleaning and a common response is “no, we have leather couches.” BINGO!

One question for you. We feel very nervous about really getting into cleaning leather – we are concerened about the liability that comes with cleaning more delicate / expensive pieces.
Do you find that the training and the leather kit have made you secure enough in your knowledge of leather cleaning to mitigate this kind of concern?
Thanks,
Barry

The training along with the kit makes it much easier to identify the different types of leather. I do not consider myself and expert in identifying leather (other than I like the smell), however the training and packaged/kit have given me the peace of mind I needed.
March 28, 2012 at 2:49 pm #151130AnonymousInactiveI never cleaned leather before (maybe because I don’t offer ), until past couple of days. I had a customer and asked me for a leather cleaning. Than I realize, I should practice on my own leather chair at home and start offering leather cleaning.
What I used was: Step # 1: Aniline Leather Cleaner for all leather types, Step # 2: Leather Moisture PA for finish leather and Step # 3: Leather Protection PA for Aniline and Pigmented Leather.
Directions how to use it are on back of each bottle. It’s pretty easy to do it, just time consuming. Here are couple of pictures, I think it looks pretty good to me 🙂
I will definitively charge more for leather than regular upholstery cleaning. Do you guys have any idea what to charge for all 3 steps on leather cleaning ?
Thanks
AdrianJuly 27, 2012 at 5:35 am #151131AnonymousInactiveI talked with John and he recommended charging double what you normally would for upholstery.
July 28, 2012 at 3:56 am #151132AnonymousInactiveWe charge $69 to clean a standard synthetic upholstered sofa, and $99 to clean a leather sofa. You might get double in some places, but if you want any work around here you won’t charge that much.
