What other services do some of you offer? When I say this, I don’t mean services provided by Heaven’s Best corporate; I mean services such as house cleaning (house keeping I should say), major water extraction, air duct cleaning, etc. I was just curious. I saw, on another HB opreators website or phone book ad that they offer steam cleaning as well as our process??? It was a while back, can’t remember which owner/operator it was.

I fixed a couple of my customers air conditioners this summer lol.

I don’t offer anything outside of the HB services, although I would like a big extractor for flood/water damage work. It would also help to pre-extract some of the nasty jobs such as restaurants ect.

We all can do steam cleaning. If you have a Ninja or an upholstery mate, you are a “steam cleaner”, or hot water extractor if you will. Doesn’t mean you have to offer it, but it is an option if you so desire.

We basically only do carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning. Farm out carpet repairs/stretching and don’t do the tile or wood cleaning/waxing. We stick with what we’re good at.

    Yep Neil,

I’ve done a couple of handyman things myself every once in a while, some extra cash you know, and not in Heaven’s Best name.

    Devlin,

That’s right, stick to what you know. Trying to provide a service you know nothing about can lead to some major problems. I did a few minor water extractions and disliked them very much.

We started offering house cleaning services as well (my wife handles most of that). It has been pretty good, and we have had quite a few customers hire us to do a complete house and carpet cleaning (mainly folks moving in or out). They like the fact that they can get a complete “One stop shop” type cleaning service…

We got into hard floor cleaning, tile, linoleum, etc, since the customer needs it and many of the carpet cleaning competitors offer as well. It is a deal breaker in many cases. If we can do the job, we do incorporate into the overall deal. Quoting four large areas for tile cleaning and area rug cleaning with a local day care center. vct cleaning with HS is the same as t & G cleaning, except easier.

    My 2 cents worth…

    Mike,

A good question, as I too have wondered what some of the other operators offer in addition to our regular services. The previous owner of this franchise sold and serviced air cleaners. I must say I am suprised by the number of HB operators who do not offer tile and grout as well as hardwood floor services. I find it very lucrative, even if it is back breaking work. We have added a lot of revenue this year from the tile and grout especially. It seems that more and more we run into clients who have more tile or are planning on installing tile floors. I hate to turn that over to anyone else to do.

    Yes Sir Dooley,

If your given the tools, why not offer it. It is just more avenues to help your business. How are things in Canyon Lake Dooley. Are you guys using the franchise express flyers. If you are, how is it going for you?

Things are just fine. Business is picking up and thus far have exceeded projections. We have not ever used the franchise express flyers. I have not found the value there versus other avenues. You?

Not really. What avenues do you use, or what works best so far for you guys? Give me a call if you would like.

Thanks for reply. Still would like to hear from some others.
