Has anyone used yellowpages.com. I was contacted by them and met with them. They guarantee results. I’ve tried advertising on the net and didn’t like the results. Curious if anyone uses them and likes them. If it is as good as that claim it works better than phone books ads and is a tenth of the price for what I pay for my phone book ads.
Thanks.July 1, 2007 at 1:13 am #150121AnonymousInactiveI’m in there because it is so cheap – I think I pay around $25 per month. So far, I am unaware of a single job from it. I’ve been in just over a year.
I try to ask my new customers where they heard about me, but I forget sometimes. I suppose I may have gotten a couple of jobs from it. It is definitely nothing spectacular.
For the record, I do well from my yellow pages ad in the book.

The guy that we dealt with was quitting and made us a lot of promises that he knew they couldn’t keep, but I guess just wanted to make the sale. Add to it that the company was merging with another company so everything was null and void that we previously agreed upon. Every time they contacted us we voiced our concern over this and they said they would have a supervisor call us or give us a free month, but it never happened and the next person that would call us would be just as clueless. They even called us once trying to get me to sign up with them and we were already using them. Talk about feeling like a valued customer. That did it for me and we dropped them. We ended with them in Jan ’06 and we totaled about $2000 in business, $1400 of which was one job. Spent about $3300 over the 15 mos we were with them. We were with them in their infancy and I do see some advertising for them now, so they may be better. I think their prices have dropped too.

It’s based on a points system and the more bells and whistles you have on your ad(email link, web link, call button, etc.) the more points and the higher up in the listings you’ll be. For me it pays for itself each year, but it’s not a big earner. I use it mainly for more Internet presence.
