My employee cleaned my home church yesterday. As he cleaned the seams came apart in most of the church. The carpet is 14 years old and was in pretty good shape. No seams separating. When I went to check on it yesterday, one seam was loose for about 12 feet and there were several bumps away from the seam that had risen. The glue was very dry under the carpet. It was also very thin. There was no seam tape. Anybody had this problem. I think it was not my fault but I am going to pay for it anyhow.
Most carpet I have removed took an amazing amount of effort. I can not believe how easy it separated. I could pull the whole carpet up in about 5 minutes with my bare hands.

on one of the commercil contract I do every year had the problem with one seam. (pointed it out before I cleaned for them) went to my apartments grabbed some tile glue (I had it lying around else i would have bought carpet glue) and my spreader went back cleaned the carpet, fixed the seam. when the gals came into work that next monday not only were they commenting on how nice the carpets looked but that we also fixed that nasty trip hazzard. that was last fall. went ther 2 weeks ago to work out some advertising and it still looked great.

Go find a local installer and pay to have it fixed. Tell them the situation. While they are there watch and learn. Ask questions and create a relationship. I have done repairs for the last seven years and I still turn some over to the pros. This is how I learned how to do most of the repairs I know. Sometimes we have to pay for the training in the field.

Smart thinking Greg. Not only smart, but common sense right? I watched some guys install carpet in my neighbors house, but learned shortly after that they did a piss poor job.
