The websight says that all operaters are insured and Bonded for your protection. I am not bonded wasn’t aware I was suposed to be I know its not a requirment of WA state, did I miss this in the HB contract?
that being said what does it take to be bonded
August 31, 2006 at 4:43 pm #147447Tn02ParticipantI am not bonded either. It’s not required in my state.
September 1, 2006 at 9:36 pm #147448Bret WootonParticipantI think that’s another website error. Although it’s not a bad idea to be bonded, it’s certainly not required in our contract or in my city and state.

Talk to your insurance salesperson (same one who sells general liability insurance).
September 20, 2006 at 4:39 am #147450FL18ParticipantYou usually want to be bonded if you have employees. Texas doesn’t require Business insurance or bonding.

September 20, 2006 at 3:09 pm #147452hbottumwaParticipantDave liability insurance is what your required to have for the business, as stated in your contract. You should be able to get it included as a package. Are you talking personal hospital coverage if grown up bam bam bubba uses the buffer on you because his wife without teeth thinks your cute?
September 20, 2006 at 3:46 pm #147453pachecoParticipantGordon, I mean insurance against me doing something dumb to the carpeting and destroying it. Like if a thread was pulled up by the machine and ripped away a bunch of carpet…what insurance pays for the damage to the carpet. Mine does not.
I have $2 million liability for damage to anything else in the home or office, like a Ming Dynasty vase that might get broken, but not for carpeting.
Am I off base someplace?
I would like to have coverage to carpet damage that I might do, like damaging a $30k oriental or something like that…heck, even only a $5k oriental…I don’t have it in my account. I am under the impression that it is cost prohibitive to purchase this type of insurance. Am I in the broccoli or something?
Please educate this midwest-raised rookie with some good news if you don’t mind. If there is affordable insurance for carpet damage, I haven’t found it yet.
Thanks a million..
Dave
September 21, 2006 at 1:28 am #147454AnonymousInactiveI have an additional rider on my liability insurance that covers damage to carpets or any personal posessions of the customer. I asked my agent for this when I was getting started. Won’t cover anything if I take home a carpet and clean it there. Wasn’t that much extra for payment.
September 21, 2006 at 10:20 am #147455pachecoParticipantLoren,
Thanks for responding.
Would you share the name of the Ins Company? Thanks. Dave
September 26, 2006 at 5:36 pm #147456pachecoParticipantI checked with my agent and with Hartford, I am not coered if I do direct damage to the customer carpet in the home with my equipment.
I am covered if I damaged their carpet in the home from something else like a bottle of india ink I might have knocked onto the floor and I ruided the carpet from an action like that….but not from something I might have done with my equipment and work activity like if I caught a thread or fiber or something and it pulled the carpet loose…or if I forgot to spray an olefin and I melted it…I am informed that my insurance with Hartford does not cover actions like these.
Anyone have any better information?
Any suggestions?
thanks,
DaveSeptember 26, 2006 at 10:53 pm #147457hbottumwaParticipantAsk if he could include a rider that would cover you or call another agent. If you need a big hammer don’t settle for screw driver. Sure you might think you are saving some money but you didn’t get what you needed. It might be worth it to check around to compare.
