Has anyone ordered a vac bag and cup recently? The last two I’ve ordered must’ve been made on a Friday afternoon because they are..oh, how shall I say this…crap!
August 2, 2006 at 3:02 am #147269AnonymousInactiveDan,
I recently went with the bag set up with the paper bag liner. I absolutely love it. When I weigh the time it takes me and my employee to clean the vacs up, I think I’m money ahead this way. The best part is I’m rid of all the dust, and I think the performance is just as good.August 2, 2006 at 3:51 am #147270AnonymousInactiveI use and like the bag systems best also. The dirt cup is just that, dirty. Half the time my customer isn’t even home when i clean and wouldn’t see the amount of dirt i pick up anyway with the dirt cup. I also think the cloth bag is a better investment cause you can blow it out with an air hose for quick clean ups and even wash it if it starts to smell.
August 2, 2006 at 10:13 pm #147271AnonymousInactiveHow did you go about getting one? How often are you replacing the bag?
What do you pay for the bags? I agree the dirt cup system adds sooo much dust to everything everytime you empty it.August 3, 2006 at 1:40 am #147272tjbackParticipantI talked to Adam Howard, it is the same price as the dirt cup assembly. I ordered it online, and told Adam what I wanted in the comment section. A week later I got the dirt-cup assembly. I called Adam and he said with the new website the comments are not getting through to him. He is sending me the bag system now. I don’t know what kind of bags they take.
August 3, 2006 at 1:58 am #147273AnonymousInactiveWe were charged the same amount as the dirt cup assembly. The paper bags are about $1.10 each. I change them every 2-3 days most of the time. You can only fill them about 1/3 to 1/2 full or risk them breaking . . . then you have a mess. I like ’em and won’t go back to the cup.
August 3, 2006 at 2:10 pm #147274AnonymousInactiveAre you getting the bags from HB also? How many bags come in a box?
August 3, 2006 at 9:09 pm #147275pachecoParticipantWhen our bag began to stink, I sprayed a few shots of Lysol up and into the bag and then the outside of the bag…odor eliminated. Also use with the Port a Vac.
I use a shop vac to empty the cup into…less mess. I crack open the cup assembly and hav the shop vac at the opening and it suck out the contents.
Minimal mess.

The vacuum bags aren’t available on the HB Online Store, so we’ve been ordering them from http://www.totalvac.com. It’s takes over a week to receive my orders, but they have a competitive price. You just have to plan to keep a few boxes stocked on your shelf. I order the Hoover Vacuum Bags – 10 pack Type A for $10.95 plus shipping.

No worry about brushing the door or wall edges and leaving a dust mark that must be cleaned off. I buy the bags at the locally owned store in town. I use the Type A bags. 5 to a pack and buy 3 packs at a time about a buck and a half each. I replace them every 3-5 days depending on the soil conditions. I found that if it seems the vac isn’t picking up some “stuff”, hair balls, small paper pieces, etc., check the bag to see if it meeds changing. With really dusty carpets fine dust tend to clog the pores and will not allow the air to flow properly. Change the bag and the vac works like always, great.
August 8, 2006 at 3:56 pm #147278tjbackParticipantI found the Hoover Type A bags at Wal-Mart for less than a buck a bag.

I have made it my personal mission to buy as much as I can locally and not use the big box stores. The way I see it, I support the local business people and they support me. There are other reasons but they can get too lengthy to discuss here.
November 28, 2006 at 9:51 pm #147280Don DietzParticipantim using the hoover conquest comercial not sure if everyone else is using the same vacuum but it has the clear dust cup and cloth bag and my biggest problem is the dust that gets trapped in the bag. i find it a big pain to have to constantly clean the bag out and it’s time consuming. do these hoover a bags fit inside that or is there an easy faster way to clean the dust out with out having to turn it inside out and hose it out all the time? i cleaned the whole thing just yesterday and i already have to clean it again cuz dust literally fly’s off the bag.
